Because wings is bugged. DKs have better CC, but magplar has better, passives, burst, healing, class based purge and magika steal. DK is still not as strong as the hype train makes them out to be. Assuming similarly skilled players, magplar will outperform DK in everything except dueling situations, imo. Magplar can easily wear 5 Heavy and run 3 offensive sets, Slimecraw/Julianos/Spinners for example, and still sustain forever. If you do that on mDK you're not gonna sustain in 1vX situations.

Agree here, 100%. Other sets good for MagPlar: Rattle, Soulshine

Reliable CCs: spear, toppling, vamp drain.

spear doesnt CC anymore, toppling is the most broken gapcloser and vampdrain is okayish. Wouldn´t call any CC templar has reliable.

Not anytime soon sadly. Not having fun at all with the current balance, sorcs everywhere and you get perma curses on you, my dk is unplayable without a pocket templar. I'm getting ripped to shreds in heavy armor, with bloodspawn procs up and volatile armor.

This has been my experience.

Unblockable curse, Unreflectable crushing shock. Horrible.

Even the potato sorcs are insanely strong.

curse doesnt even bother me that much, its the stupid amount of free frag procs they are getting, the sheer volume of it has actually started to make me flinch everytime I hear the thud of a crystal frag on my character.

Its disgusting.

Mdk was better than magplar for solo last patch too.

It pretty much is worse than nothing 1 in 5 times as the passive that procs damage on spear abilities breaks its own CC giving free immunity.

FWIW; i like Javelin fine in the stam version. You have to time it when block is down and I play in AS so not a lot of perma block going on. Magicka version is just too short

Because mdk is the flavour of the month for youtube videos. It's actually been for a long time, and it's always trendy to make mdk videos. Except the potato enemies displayed is at an all time high, because mdk is still super crap. (no offense to blab ofc, there are though a ton of new mdk videos coming from all over the place)

The two latest videos in my sig (the rest are full on blazing shield builds so I wouldn't count those as magplars).

I've never played a DK so I can't compare the two.

Magplar is good at surviving, but solo and actually killing..no

Toppling and vamp drain are both reliable CCs

Either you trollin' dawg or you are a group-plar. Vamp drain and toppling is not effective if you're pushing yourself against numbers.
