So i viewed all the manors...and I realized one thing that needs to be changed, or earthtear is never gonna be good enough compare to other manors --- lack of open sapce under the sky.

This is a cavern, true; its size is about equal to other manors, true; but it lacks open space under the sky, which means it lacks sunshine, and it's design will be limited in that rock box.
(Anyone who watched that "tower" on topal island will understand what i am saying.... Under the sky means nearly unlimited altitude, so even if earthtear is as big as others considering the gound area, it lacks a lot of space.

Cavern is my favorite one but it needs to improve...either give us sky, like other manors; or give us the deep ground, like a cavern should be, plz improve it so it can match with other manors :3

Suggesting that the cavern needs changing because there isn't enough skyline is like saying the island needs changing because it's surrounded by too much water.

Under the sky does not mean 'nearly unlimited altitude'. Topal Hideaway is exceptional in that case, and even then they had to start from the lowest point on the island (slightly below sea level) to get a tower that big.

Most of the homes have some outdoor space but you cannot build anything higher than the tallest existing structure. For example in Hunding's you can read the top of the lighthouse but no higher. In Mournoth Keep it's the top of the roof, or roughly equal with the back wall. The only difference with Earthtear Cavern is that it's immediately obvious how high you can go whereas with the others you need to experiment to find the invisible ceiling.

I don't disagree that the lack of open air makes this house disappointing. It's what put me off getting it (that and I'm sure it's going to be expensive), but I don't think simply removing some of the roof would solve your problem.

If you know you're going to want to build big structures I think you need to factor that in to your choice of house. Pick one where part of the building is very tall and/or it's on a slope (like Forsaken Stronghold) and then start from the lowest point on the map.

I think the idea that this doesn't offer what everything else does is a plus. There should be choices which are entirely different to others.

We have three manors which offer massive open building areas, so I don't think one large/huge building area entirely enclosed is a bad thing.

Personally, I think Earthtear has too much open space as it is.

See, if I wanted a cave-based home, I would want a labyrinth... somewhere dark and winding, with lots of little hidey holes and maybe even a hidden room or two. I would want it to feel like somewhere illicit, where my friends who visited would feel like they're entering a delve, the lair of a dangerous witch/assassin/bandit king/daedric cultist etc.

I find Earthtear is just too big and open to appeal to me in its function as a cave. It feels like a ballroom more than a natural formation, to me, and while it's certainly pretty, that just isn't what I'm looking for in a cave.

That's just my personal taste, though. You root for what you want out of it. :)
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

Aye Earthtear doesn't really look like a home (or cavern for that matter). Maybe it's good for guild hall design? I don't really know. I might get jealous of others' skyscrapers though :/

This spot which is on the NE corner of Earthtear Cavern is inaccessable because of an invisible wall. I placed a plank walkway to reach the spot and could not advance onto the ample ledge. Please, reconsider not allowing us to use this part of the cavern. It's a great spot for crafting stations!
