Refining Materials?

I've seen much superstition around refining materials to get gold mats, I've seen some people say they only refine stacks in small amounts at a time go away and come back, some do it all in one go. Do you think theres any truth to them or just nonsense?

✭I haven't noticed any difference in which way I refineI have refined well over 50k materials in each field. Doesn't matter where, when or with who. 1 temper in about 20 refines or 5% is the standard. Large quantities or small it equals out at the end of the day.0 -

So not actually 1:20 refines.
Just a simple to understand 5% chance each time you refine independent from the last 3 or last 100.0 -

A simple search on these forums will give you hints on what to look for, all the way back to the beta days ...

If ZOS uses the simplest pRNG there are about four billion patterns to figure out. Easy, right...Since ZOS RNG isn't actually real RNG, it's easy to figure out the pattern (yes, there is a pattern).

Couple of months age, when IT launched I had combined about 60k+ unrefined matts.
