Mage Light doesn't reveal stealthed / cloaked targets correctly

I've been getting this bug lately where I am stealthed while casting Inner Light to reveal a nightblade spamming Cloak closeby. Suddenly I get revealed (not by Mage Light - there is no white ball floating around me meaning that I got revealed by it) but I am not revealing the nightblade with my Mage Light.

Seems like Mage Light is not always detecting correctly even if the Nightblade is right on top of me obviously because I get revealed by him passing next to me.

  • Fix Volendrung (spawn location - weapon white on the map causing the wielder to keep it forever - usable with emperorship)
  • Remove / Change CPs System, remove current CP/noCP campaigns and introduce one 30days with lock, one with no locks
  • Fix crashes when approaching a keep under attack because of bad / wrong rendering prioritization system
  • Change emperorship to value faction score points and not alliance points - see this and this
  • Fix long loading screens (mostly caused by players joining group out of rendering range)
  • Add 2 more quickslots to the wheel or add a different wheel for sieges weaponry only
  • Fix Balista Bolts not dealing damage on walls or doors if deployed at a certain place
  • Release bigger battlegrounds with 8 to 16 players per team and only two teams
  • Fix the permanent block animation - see examples : link1 link2 link3 link4 link5
  • Gives players 10 minutes to get back into Cyrodiil after relogging / crashing
  • Add a function to ignore the Claiming system of useless rewards
  • Improve the Mailing System / Rewards of the Worthy stacking
  • Assign specific group sizes to specific campaigns (24-16-8)
  • Make forward camps impossible to place near objectives
  • Make snares only available from ground effects abilities
  • Change emperorship to last minimum 24hours
  • Fix body sliding after cc breaking too quickly
  • Remove Block Casting through Battle Spirit
  • Fix the speed drop while jumping - see video
  • Fix loading screens when keeps upgrade
  • Fix Rams going crazy (spinning around)

    I have had this experience as well. With both Mage Light AND Expert Hunter.

    There is a difference as well with detection of targets and the mage light reveal that prevents them from going back into stealth. Lets say your detection radius is 5m, mage light may only increase this another 5m or so. I need to check these values, remembering off the top of my head)l. So you can see them at 10m out. The "reveal" is still limited to 5m though. So you need to close in quick to make sure they don't leave your detection radius. If you use a detection potion you can get another 20m of detection (30m or so total).

    Keep in mind though if a target is BEHIND the way you are facing though your detection radius is something like 2m or less. Mage light will reveal these enemies though if they come into that 5m radius, making it a great tool to prevent the 2 hit gank.

    So let me see if I have this right. Cloak is audible and now totally breakable and indeed constantly breaking, rendering it totally useless and people are still crying about it?

    Edit: Note that it constantly breaks on its own. You don't even need to actively break it. It just does its own thing.

    It is actually not a bug, but a mechanic if the Nightblade was a Bosmer or a Khajiit. Their racial skill Stealthy doesn't have any effect on stealth radius. Instead it decreases the detection radius of the other players and any skills that increase that. The sentry set can also do something similar by increasing the detection radius of the player. So even if he is out of the detection radius of Magelight, his own detection radius would be large enough to detect you.

    Interesting. Sometimes I wish there tooltips were explained in this fashion to give insights how the game is coded.

    Ever since they changed it from a toggle, it's been crap

    I've died faster many many times due to this (granted, I probably would have died anyway, but I could have gotten SOMETHING in).
    Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
    Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
    Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
    Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

    Untrue. I ran with it in 2.3 and it was deadly against NBs. The cloak lockout is a death sentence to some builds.

    I'm not saying there isn't an issue now, but it certainly hasn't been crap since the change.

    If someone uses the Sentry set then uses Radiant Mage Light, it will reveal enemy players without them knowing like the old Radiant Mage Light used to.

    Just a heads up it might noe be cloaking constantly. As a nightblade, when you are in stealth and you swap weapons the character plays a cloak animation sound. I could be sitting right next to someone and swap weapons like madman and enjoy how paranoid ppl gets.

    It's been a while, but I though the bug was that the cloaked opponent had to be in range when magelight is cast. I have not been able to get it to work by casting and then running over someone. But again, that was a while ago.
