What is says in the title,
yeah i have done all my duties for the whole week and now i want to play the game but there is still maintenance.

You still think 8 hours average maintenance weekly that dont help get the bugs out of the game is a "Necesary Evil " ?

It is a necessary evil. Without it you wouldn't be playing the game AT ALL.

Maintenance is a necessary evil. All day maintenance that exceeds by hours their estimated time on a weekly basis is incompetence.

I am convinced they turn off the servers just because they know it will annoy us....
There is nothing ZoS like more than angry customers and bad publicity...

In reality one server restart a year is plenty.....everything else is done to make us angry, thats it.

And just in case you were wondering,,,everything I just typed was sarcasm o.O

I guess this post is useless. When it will be in the future like it was the last weeks, day long maintenances and unpatched bugs, players will start leaving that game. Then, something will happen. As long as you sit here and write hate postings, nothing will change.
    So, your post is useless.

Maintenance time is what it is. It takes as long as it takes and is done as often as thought needed.

No reason to get upset about it. Be glad they actually maintain the game

I'm curious, what duties have you completed for the whole week? What do you do that allows you to wait around all morning for maintenance?

In Star Trek, Scotty would exaggerate how long it would take to fix the problem, fix it "early", and be known as a miracle worker. The guys who run maintenance are like the opposite of that. They say how long it'll be until maintenance is over, and then find a tech issue and extend it. They should take a lesson from Scotty and give a 24 hour ETA each week and finish early.

Sorry but thats none of anybody's bussines on here,
i am done with it that you are allowed to know.

Same as its none of our bussines whats happening at ZoS other then the usual "the outstanding issue that has resulted in an extended maintenance window".....again..

    and again....

    and again.....

No, i'm not this one. Go and take a look, how many threads are mine. guess... 0. ZERO. And i dont know, why you are that agressive. I just wrote, the problems here will be solved by itself within the next mounths. This means, that i am angry, you are angry, but zenimax will get the bill.

You should work in a factory and see what they think about maintenance being what it is. Downtime is bad and everything should be done to limit it. If I couldn't get my machines up and running in a reasonable timeframe on a consistent basis, I would have been fired. If ZOS can't get their servers up in time they need to:

    1. Give themselves a longer window (it would still annoy people but people are happier being told something didn't take as long as expected rather than keep extending the timeframe.)
    2. Fix their processes to streamline the maintenance process and work out what is causing these technical difficulties.
    3. Hire more and/or different employees if the ones you have can not perform their jobs in the allotted time.

I know it is the standard to post that it is only a game and people should get a life and go outside etc... But the reality is that this is a business and people are paying for a service that they can't use. I get that games are a luxury, but do you often just accept when things you are paying for can't be used?

If you are that dependent on the game perhaps something is wrong.

ZeniMax Online Studios is seeking a Server Engineer. This individual will be working closely with game designers to implement and iterate on game features for our current title as well as partnering with our other ZMI Studios. Development will be done primarily in C++ with knowledge of client/server systems required.

    Responsibilities

Be as incompetent as possible maintaining regular server down time.

It isn't about being dependent on a game. It is about paying for something you can't use. Do you like paying for services that you can't use for an entire day even though it was only supposed to be down for a few hours? If Netflix or your internet or cable etc... went down for one day a week you would be absolutely fine with it? I get it, it is a game and in the grand scheme of things is not important, but why let a company off the hook for failing to live up to their timetables?

    This i agree with.
And true,i take value to an announced ETA,and i think we as gamers should get an ETA the day before maintenance,
but i rather have ZoS say they go down for maintenance for 24 hours and it turns it to be just 22 hours then this.....
