"Limited Time": means nothing?

Loot Box/Lottery Box/Crown Crates will have a chance of dropping mounts, pets and costumes that were limited time sales. As far as I'm concerned these no longer count as "Limited Time" and a lot of people who bought these deemed exclusive items now feel it was under false pretences.

Don't get me wrong - I missed out on a lot of special items too but I understood they were sold for a short time and I just missed the boat.

Perhaps instead we can do away with this "Limited Time" and just allow us all that flexibility of buying when we can/want to.

I'd say that all items should recycle through each year at least for a limited time each year. Even the PC exclusive senche that basically cost 12 months of subs.

Originally they said the limited time stuff would be rotated back through in the future... so, "limited time," always meant "only available within certain windows."

In every online game I have played that has offered "Limited Time" items it never has really been limited time, even the those special items you get for pre-order will show up at some point in the game, nothing is truly special in online games, just one of those things that is not going to change. Non-issue for me and nothing to see here move along.. /shrug

If they included the ice wraith and dwemer sphere pets it'd be epic. Console players didn't even get a chance at them. I'd of happily bought an annual eso plus for it. We actually need better pets. Not crappy cats and tiny lizards and fairy things. Only good pet in this game atm is the Horvar.

They will still be exclusive, because the drop rate from boxes is gonna be so very low.

Or do you honestly think suddenly everyone will go into a gambling spree, purchasing hundreds of those boxes? Have a little faith in humanity

I'm down for everything recycling from time to time with the exception of the Beta Monkey and the Loyalty Senche.

Those are reserved for those that "were there".

Come on. This is marketing 101. Make a couple of items artificially rare to keep up the price people are willing to pay. Rotate those rare items throughout the year to have a steady flow of income. Announce an end-date to put some more pressure on potential buyers.

If it wasn't possible for ZOS to make some extra money this way, they'd be raising the prices for more basic items.

Word "limited" have different meaning in marketing. Name something "limited" and milking cows will give you money to get that "unique" product.

So in other words they are once again COPYING DCUO, who would periodically sell various item packs containing a random aura with a chance to receive a 'rare' one?!? Seems someone on ZOS' team is paying a lot of attention to what DCUO is doing, starting with the 'small content' concept, and now selling 'random' item packs. On the plus side, at least ZOS cares about solo players, that was the whole reason I left DCUO, when the top devs came out and stated that 'solo players were an anomaly' in DCUO and they would prefer not to have solo content in the game at all. After those statements, the solo offerings became much, much worse... and after two years of playing obsessively, I walked away and came to ESO.

I agree that loyalty rewards should stay loyalty rewards and should remain unpurchasable. That being said i believe that preordering this game on console should be considered loyalty. (Waiting for this game for over a year would have been sucked)
By the way i am a pc transfer to ps4 and have all the loyalty rewards.
