I hate the idea of RNG. I'd rather pay a certain price for the desired item missing in my collection. As a completionist however I'd rather pay for the chance to get what I can never get again (limited edition) than not have it at all.
lotto boxes are a huge form of revenue for games, I am not a fan of them but don't care either, I knew someone in SWTOR, that spent 50 to 60 dollars a week on them almost every week for like 3 or 4 months straight, this is why we have lotto boxes in games, money mo money and mo money, this is a for profit company, making profit, that's what they do.
ok weird, not sure how my post got shortened, but absolutely no! random packs are HORRIABLE. I played SWTOR for a long time, and I saw random packs slowly destroy it, where everything became all about the random packs. right up until their latest "Event" (play all the old content again on a new char!) which rewarded... a random pack
