Trying to find my way

I've already done ESO with a mage and taken her to what used to be a V8 and got bored.

Now I just want to play a two-handed Nord Templar (templar basically to heal myself, nothing more).

Don't want to have to bother with all that Magicka and the Nord seemed like the most obvious choice.

I have created them, but I have question.

So many of the builds say Health is the most important thing and others say Stamina is the most important thing.

As I was experimenting at very low level, I am of the opinion that Stamina wins every time with a templar warrior. You can already heal yourself easily and quickly and your Nord heritage with some help from enchantments can help with your regeneration.

Am I wrong?

I would really like to finally play a character again and am hoping that this type of build will work. I'm bored with nightblades and dragon knights and mages.

If you're playing a stamplar just to heal yourself, it doesn't really work like that since your heals will be so low anyway if you don't have all attributes into magicka. If you used Vigor or Rally as a stamplar they would be much higher heals.

With playing a Stamplar you should have enough magic for heals when you need it so the more stamina the better off you are. Your damage scales off stamina for weapon and any skills you morph into the stamina version. If you want to do damage while healing, when you morph puncturing strikes go with Puncturing Sweep instead of Biting Jabs. You'll be able to do damage as well as heal in one spell. The trade off is you won't do as much damage with the lower magicka pool it will scale off of.

When you played your NB were you 2H or Duel Wield? I'm having a lot of fun with my Stamplar at the moment who's all Duel Wield. 2h just feels too OP and easy mode to me.

It depends on what kind of build you want to play.

Looks like you want to be a Stamplar, correct?

My Stamplar is focused on stamina pool, yes, so you're on the right track.

There are other Templar builds that do focus on health ... such as debuff tanks or blazing shield builds. Check these builds out in a forum search if you're interested.

dual. Maybe that's why. I should really give an archer a shot again. Haven't played one since my first go round a long, long time ago.

If you have a low level Nord yet, go to a DLC area and try it out there - in most cases stamina might be the better choice, but then again, there are a few monsters, where you will really like to have some buffer health. I tuned mine so, that she has about 28k health battle-leveled, to compensate for my lack of other skills yet - it works most of the time pretty well like this.

Then again, when I think about the last update - you have now a longer time with beverages - so you get basically regeneration boost with beverages for pretty cheap, this could compensate for less health and you could focus more on stamina.

But where do you slot them? I understand that, if you don't slot them in your active bar, you don't get any benefit and, if I'm not going to use them, why would I slot them in my active bar? There are, after all, only 5 slots on each bar. Am I wrong? Is the off bar also considered as slotted and I can get the benefits from there even if it's not active?

Basically I just wanted to play a kick-a** two handed warrior without using spells and magic all the time. Personally I find those javelins WAAAAYYYY OP for my taste and I almost never used them. I prefer just to hit 'em over the head or blow 'em backward with my giant mace.

Oh Archer is cool - and goes well with a stamina build anyway. Release a shot not by releasing the mouse button though, you hold it, draw the bow and shoot by pressing an ability key for the bow - like poison injection - so both will hit your target about the same time. And keep holding the mouse button for subsequent shots - it is really easy to do this way and you can do both, light and heavy attacks combined with the ability.
