Their prices on their for sale items are overly expensive, kinda break my immersion even more lol.

Or in London, it is my favorite metropolis, but living there is a nightmare seen from the costs of living and housing.

I also heard about that! I think there a house to rent is about 1500 per month? But I might be mistaken. Here in Switzerland to get something more decent you need to pay at least 1800 per month. Anything below that is either very small, in a bad neighborhood, far away from any points of interest, old, or all of them.

Far worse - sharing a flat with a couple of other people leaves you with 1-room and about 600 dollars, not including your share for communal services and tax. If you want a house you are more likely to pay like 2500-3000 dollars, if it is not in the outskirts - basically zone 1-3 is really expensive and the others are too far out - it would take you like an hour to get to central London with the tube. Prices differ as well a lot dependent on the borough you want to live at.

Oh wow I could never live in London then... In Switzerland too, electricity and water is separated, then you have to pay a yearly fee for a house insurance, you have to pay monthly around 280 francs for your health insurance (obligatory), that many times it doesnt even cover much, for example some health insurances only cover you AFTER you paid around 6.000 to the various doctors you went, you must buy communal garbage bags that cost !!!21 francs!!!. Train costs are also enormous to be honest, and in the rush hour it is even rare to find a place to sit, even though you paid maybe 30 francs (with a card that leaves you pay for half a price) for a 1 hour train ride. But all in all, the salaries are also different here, its a wonderful country, people are nice, you can access beautiful scenery in just a few hours of a train ride, its a relatively "safe country" , but dont go around Basel or Solothurn because then, everything changes. It doesnt even look like Switzerland anymore, or feel like it.

Damn, I understood almost none of it
On topic: They are a lifesaver when it comes to repairing your gear and freeing bag space. Other than that i honestly never browsed their wares. Is there anything of note?
Chefs and Brewers used to be useless, but now sell basic recipes. For more than auction houses, but you can't always find the one you need anywhere else.
Grocers sell rarer ingredients at stupidly high price; it used to be 10g per item, now 150g.
Merchants sell simple bait which can be useful if you run out of worms. The potions are overpriced but will get you thru a fight.
Fighter's Guild vendors sell Training gear, which is super useful early game or for research.
Mage's Guild vendors sell jewelry, Training gear, soul gems.
Even the generic weapon/armor vendors do sell blues and "unknown" boxes which can be good research or decon.
Auction houses are far better at all these things, but some supplies are hard to find.
