The most saddening and depressing part of all of this is that BOTH gap closers AND cyrodiil did actually work at one time. This isn't some impossibly hard computer programming challenge, or something the game has always suffered with that has never had a fix.

There was a patch were toppling charge worked, were all other gap closers worked, where people weren't held in place while they waited for gap closers to connect and where PvP had 100s of people fighting in one place without significant lag.

That's why the "we're working on it" response falls flat with long time PvPers. You had it right, then you broke it. It seems they are unwilling to revert whatever change created these side-effects and are trying to fix the symptoms without addressing the cause.

I feel like there are a lot of "off the table" solutions at ZOS. So they try to work around what management tells them they aren't allowed to change with bandaids and torchbug/deer genocide.
