Question about glyphs and which vendor to buy them from

Are glyphs bought from the enchanting vendor in cyrodil via AP intentionally weaker than glyphs of the same exact level and color (white) bought for gold outside of cyrodil? I only noticed this after tg patch. but for example health armor glyphs I can purchase from inside cyrodil via AP only give my VR1 Nightblade 361 health on large pieces and a hilarious 132 health (to clarify again that's on a small gear slot for level VR1)on my small pieces. The glyphs are all named the same major glyph of health ("can only be applied to an item between vr1 and vr3") and are all white. However any "major glyph of health" bought outside of cyrodil for gold from any enchanting vendor give the appropriate health bonuses of 713 to my large pieces and 260 to my smalls.

Is this a bug or intentional so we are forced to purchase glyphs without the use of AP because my character is completely gimped with all seven armor pieces enchanted with health and only 14k health while battle leveled.

My advice to you friend, would be to use the guilds to research, locate and purchase equipment.

Though you could likely use guild chat to locate a crafter to help you out,

The glyphs that you purchase for your equipment are Range bound on creation (Vr1-VR3), (VR4-VR6).

One thing to keep in mind. With the release of the Dark Brotherhood, the Veteran System will cease to exist and Player Development will be based solely upon the Champion Points system. This could happen soon.

I'm not sure how that pertains to my question and I'm aware of the upcoming changes to the level system.

Im more curious as to why glyphs I buy with alliance points in cyrodil give a significantly lesser bonus than glyphs of the exact same level and quality bought with gold outside of cyrodil.

I wouldnt buy Glpyhs from a merchant - i'd use a Guild Trader or get in with a Guild and someone can make you what you what you want / need which will be better, I make for my guys and they always better than anything you can find in game.

In terms of your point, could be something to do with battle leveling / scaling - all that blows my mind to be fair trying to work it out who knows.

I can't really speak for the masses, but I generally find that vendor enchants are good enough for solo pve purposes. If you need anything better you can always craft them yourself /ask a friend.

Could be true that glyphs from vendors are 'good enough' but why spend even 1 gold, much less AP, when glyphs are easy to come by from loot. Better uses for gold. There are many enchanters who can make better glyphs that won't break the bank if you don't want to learn enchanting. For PVP, I want every possible edge. Lowest enchants I use are Rekuta, and then only if I'm testing a set.

As to the OP question, it sounds like a bug. It's happened before, with various glyphs not having correct values. Should probably do /feedback to report this.

I didn't knew it was possible to purchase glyphs for AP, however it wouldn't surprise me if the stats differed than the other glyphs.

I went to Stonefalls at #¤%&/( o'clock this morning to purchase a few v1 glyphs, and there were 2 kinds of each glyph. One with higher cost and higher value, one with lesser cost and lesser value.

The difference was not significant, I think it was around 20-30 max magicka in difference ..and the price was 217g for the lesser valued glyph and 227g for the higher valued glyph.

Glyphs dropped as loot from mobs usually tend to be of the higher valued glyphs you can purchase at vendors.

It has been like this since release of the game x_x

Im not sure how much AP the higher level glyphs cost but level 1-50 glyphs at the PvP enchant vendor are pretty inexpensive and AP is a bit more expendable than gold atm saying as it's only like 1-2.5k AP for 7 white armor glyphs. I only ever bought white armor health/stam glyphs for non-vet characters while they level so fast and I've been trying out a pretty big variety of different gear sets as it is my first character and I don't have the traits researched to make BiS every 4 or so levels. So yes atleast I myself use/have used white Armor glyphs :) as well as flame glyphs for my weapons.

Also, essence runes aren't exactly the cheap even in bulk so I'm more concerned about reserving mats as opposed to gold.

I'll try submitting an item support ticket, I'm on Xbox one NA EP. is there anyone else who noticed this?

Seems fixed now. I homed azura star instead of bwb though so I'm unsure if it's just related to nonvet campaign

Hmm I don't know, I have never seen the enchanter in Cyrodiil :p I do my buys in pve.

I think the better quality glyphs only matter for battlescaled areas, and I have very little experience with my non-vet chars in battlescaled content. I mainly focus on going through the faction quests with my non-vet chars, so white glyphs and gear that is 10 level lower than my char's level is not a problem :p

    My Friend,

If you have ard 20k Gold to spare and friends willing to help, you can max enchanting in about an hour.

    1. Get as many rekutas as you can
    2. Get a stack of essence runes. Thyre dirt cheap
    3. Get some potency in line with your skill level

Get a Friend to craft glyphs and Decon away! You'll be 50 and be able to craft whatever glyphs you would ever need!

Well I've never bought a glyph inside a battle leveled area and then taken it out however I'm sure the glyph itself would scale in/out of those areas, and obviously the effects of glyphs scale once their placed on the armor.

What platform are you on? I'm on Xbox NA and the lowest I can find essence runes is in bulk for about 200+ ea. Ive been using an alt to craft glyphs for decon purposes and only problem is the alts enchant level varies greatly from the char your deconning them with.
