Peculiar and Technically Disrespectful Throne Design

As a vet 10, it's safe to say I've seen a decent chunk of the game, and have saved many kingdoms and castles so far. So imagine my surprise, after much comparison to other throne rooms, with equal stature among them to see HIGH Queen Maraya sits on a dining room chair? Her throne room chair is a dining room design, while King Emeric sits on the tallest chair among all royalty. Or at least his looks the tallest next to her "booster seat". Why was this designed like this? And what message does it send?
High Queen Maraya is of royal descent from her father King Fahara'jad of Alik'r Desert, who too just so happens to have a questionable throne room design without a queen or the chair for one to sit in.
Not only does King Emeric make what could be considered an insulting and disrespectful comment about King Fahara'jad ... the father of his wife whom he has an alliance with ... but he's apparently the type of man that doesn't care to give his Redguard (a.k.a African American) wife proper status for all to see. She looks no more important than a duchess or record keeper, the way she stays in her book the entire time. In every other throne room I visited, there were two large throne chairs of equal size side by side, and still none of them are equal to King Emeric's chair. So, Queen Maraya, could have been given one of these larger, but smaller by comparison seats.
In case anyone is going to mention the queen at Alcaire castle ... remember that it was already predetermined in the story-line that she was going to die/be murdered; so her chair design was of no significance since she wouldn't ever be using it anyway. Subtleties like this are suggestive of bigger messages. Can someone at ZoS explain this to me? Why does she look like his servant?

I expected someone to say that. The problem with that saying is ... you never have to read in to evidence because it's obvious. Before dismissing the speculation, try and give a good line of logic for the layout details that I've mentioned. Address the observation and inquiry. Then, once you've disproved my thoughts with your own well thought out ones, will it show I'm reading too far in to it.

I did say that I compared King Emeric's throne room to other throne rooms in other castles, and in each one the seats were of equal size. His is the only one that is different. I wondering the same thing about the rudeness. I said nothing to insult anyone, but if people want to take that approach, I can give as good as I get.
To reply to you ... I understand it's just a chair, but to me, I see it as a significant misrepresentation of what should be acceptable. There is a much bigger underlying issue that motivates the OP, and it's for this reason that I'm asking about it to those that made it. In real life queens had seats of equal status to the king. All of the decor was significant to indicate superiority among the masses. So what message does the game convey? People should ask things like this?Motto: Make deceivers believers.

That's very true, but it wouldn't get the problem resolved. I'm not the only person that thought this odd. No offense to anyone here, but I'm not really interested in a silly back and forth and matching of pseudo wit. While everyone might want to concern themselves with matters they consider important, I have my reasons for taking this with a degree of seriousness. I'm not angry or anything remotely close to it. I'm more perplexed than anything else.

You're actually quite right. The same applies to you. We have no idea why they set it up this way. You may actually have to use your imagination. :gasp: Maybe she's humble and didn't want a huge throne. Maybe she finds it more satisfying to sit at a table in a comfortable dining room chair. Perhaps she has an aversion to gaudy thrones. Perhaps her favorite niece made this chair for her for her birthday or coronation. Perhaps this chair is made from an extremely rare type of wood by one of the greatest carpenters of tamriel. Perhaps she would rather set herself apart from the typical male rulers. Who knows?

And whilst it is certainly true that queens did get to mostly sit on thrones equal to those of their husbands, which does make it a slightly odd design choice, I rather think you're trying to find some kind of insidious meaning when, in fact, there isn't one.

On topic: Considering how planned every aspect of the game is, right down to every chair, there must be a reason that the queens chair is small. Perhaps the lore master could shed some light on this. I dont think Ive ever seen the lore master on the forums though.

✭✭✭✭✭I got the impression that Emric was sort of egotistical and the smaller chair is to put his "wife" in her place. I think it was a deliberate decision to show how Emric is full of himself and unsure of himself. He needs the "validation" of a bigger chair. It's the ESO version of a man who drives a Lamborghini with a wife who drives a Ford.
Fitting to the story if you ask me. It adds nuance to the characters.
If you don't want complex characters who have flaws that sometimes act irrationally and selfishly I suggest you try a different MMO setting. ✭Have you ever stopped and listened to the banter between the two? King Emeric hates his throne, his crown and pretty much everything about being stuck in the throne room.
