Did They Change the Formula for Looting TV Stones?

my death recap showed 4 hits by mobs in i.c.

1, 2, 3, ...5 = killed by mob on fifth shot.

hit 4 was by a (legend in his mind) player trying to rob the mobs, i'd guess.

i had 14 stones, i lost 11. so has formula been changed?

    It seems the game just counted your death as 'by a player' instead of by a mob, resulting in the normal 80% loss. 14*.8=11.2, round down to 11.

    the math wasn't a mystery.

    but why would a computer arbitrarily give the player credit for a kill when a mob did it?

    hence my original question: has it been changed?

    It is based on who gets the final hit. I've lost out on stones because players I've had near death will run to the closest mob causing it to be a PVE death instead of PVP. Even though I did most of the damage, a zombie swipes them once and I get nothing.

    Are the 5 attacks that show up in your Death Recap in order of first to last? I didn't think they were. Could be the player actually got the last hit.

    the deathblow, and who delivered it, is indicated in the recap by a skull/bones.

    I've lost 80% when the PC got the "second" hit in the recap and I was actually killed by an NPC. The times I lose only 10% seem to correlate to having NO player names on the death recap screen.

    Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
    Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
    Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
    Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

    Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
    House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
    Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis
