Kind of the same way we use the in-game mail system.

text should be a offered choice for those whom are hearing-impaired as well as decrease the continue harassment that alot of players face on console with people screaming over mic stopping convos, to others making disgusting & fubar comments & jokes. i would like to play a game & not have to pick between being able to communicate & only hear people whom should be ban for their actions or be force to mute the voice chat making it feel like i am playing single player.

Why not? It's obvious that people want the option, why not just add it? I'm sure it requires a whole bunch of things aside from just "adding it", like the moderation, etc... however it would be a good thing for those that want it.

Honestly, why isn't their an option for either? I, like many console players, came from DCUO (RIP) were we had voice and text. The problem is that people are deciding which is better voice or text or which we should have. What's the big problem with having both? Sometimes I would prefer to use voice chat (pledges/trials/some pvp) but then a lot of times I'd rather use text (LFG/trade/sending quick whispers to people/finding out where the pvp action is) why be limited to one form of communication?

And if they do limit us to this (very limiting) form of communication because for whatever reason at least they need to really improve it. When they released ESO on console they said they chose voice chat because they wanted to use the next gens features to its potential but why they didn't realize is that one of the ps4s most attractive qualities was the introduction of the cross game chat(which Xbox has aswell) and a lot of people are in parties most of the time, at least one out of every three pug pledges i do invite me to a party chat for the dungeon (obviously this doesn't hold any weight with my claim)

Quick chat is another big problem in this game and those who use it know what I mean. The ONLY useful one is "would you like to join a group" (and yes and no but that's a given) they really need to either allow you to edit custom quick chats or offer more detailed quick chat messages. Not much work to be done here (not a designer/coder so idk how much work)

TLDR;
1. Why not introduce text (toggle-able)and have it alongside voice so people who want either can use either
2. Improve what we have already (add a blended option so we can hear in-game chat while in a party chat)
3. Add more detailed and in depth quick chat messages or allow us to create them (with discretion from certain banned words of course)

The feature is already there - the in-game mail system has a pop up keyboard and they've got the interface on the PC. Port the interface across and use the pop up keyboard to access it.

I guess their reason for not adding it is because Microsoft said they can't? You used that excuse for not having character names in the game...

Are you seriously telling me that the makers of a console I don't use are the reason I see PSNs displayed?

Consol Doesn't let you type to each other? wtf? Don't those things have really expensive compatible keyboards? What else are they good for if you can't type...
