Beating a Dead Argonian
Yeah I know this is still an issue but seeing as how the other text chat for consoles thread was closed I wanted to keep this issue open.
Here's just a few points to keep in mind before posting.
▬ ESO is an MMORPG not an FPS. The maps are huge compared to an fps map and as such proximity VOIP is not optimal.
▬ On the topic of VOIP. People...can get a bit annoying. The last thing anyone should hear is someone scream at their parents or in the very worse case someone discovering their bodies.
▬ Keyboards. Ah yes the argument of "Keyboards aren't supported on console." In truth they ARE supported (I use one for FFXIV on my PS4.)
▬ Trading, grouping, and asking for help. Without text chat these things are kind of missing from the social part of an MMO. Sure you could go onto a site and post what you're looking for but the whole point of being on console is so you don't need to use the PC. If going you want to use a site to look for a group why not just play the PC version?
These are just a few things to remember when thinking about text chat on the consoles. Personally I feel that ZOS made a bad decision to not include it. Rather then looking at the console versions as what they are (an MMORPG) they were looking at it as though it were an FPS or a single player and I would LOVE to see text chat be implemented into the console version.
