Solemn Plea to ZOS

Hello!

So, please, ZOS, never make ANY video game ever again!

How you could slaughter this epic franchise (played all five main titles) is beyond me...
Starting with having to choose a class, a direct antagonism of all things Elder Scrolls has ever stood for... Choosing a faction, effectively prohibiting from playing with many of your friends or kissing immersive atmosphere goodbye and taking a faction you don't like, just for your friends... Terrible balancing, a mage casts stronger with a two-hander, lol... Enemies hit-scanning you through walls... And PvP that is just a massive ganking - not zerging, just good old cowardly ganking... The list continues.

While you definitely created a visually beautiful and atmospheric Tamriel, you did kill almost all of my respect for the franchise. I will never, EVER, buy a Zenimax game again. Maybe I would reconsider after drastic and much-needed improvements to the game, but I guess that will never happen. Would happily sell my game, but it's digital content, so I'm stuck with it. Well, I'm actually really sad about typing this, but it's my honest opinion and I feel it needs to be said, sorry about that.

Have a good day!

On the plus side, at least we can be sure that there will be another ES game in the future.

I don't dislike TESO as much as you do, but, as a long time TES (and other) RPG player, there were disappointing things and I had no idea what to expect.

Now that I've been at it a while, there are definitely some great and well written contents.

I wouldn't blame Zenimax exclusively, I'm sure there were others involved.

If nothing else, it was an experiment. Some folks love it, some hate it, so I would call it a success from their point of view. I mean, honestly thousands of players worldwide, all paying for subscriptions and content? That can't be a bad thing from their point of view.

I have nearly 5000 hours logged on Skyrim in my steam account. I love the open nature of TES games. And I (mostly) love the restrictions that this one places on me. It provides me with a very different type of challenge and one that I've loved enough to level 5 toons to VR10+ and the other three into VR. What I find frustrating with the game are the bugs and the apparently random way ZOS chooses to deal with game mechanics to "fix" things.

I thoroughly enjoy this game. The class issue isn't an issue as well, it's a bonus. It gives you a little more ability to specialize, on top of the fact that if anyone could use any skill, not many people would have functional characters. Can you imagine a stamp sorc, combined with a mag NB, combined with a tank? Wouldn't be able to do anything well whatsoever. I've played every elder scrolls game, every fallout game, every souls game, every final fantasy game, etc. I can honestly say that you're not thinking these complaints through.

I've only played Oblivion, Skyrim, and ESO, and I have to disagree with the OP's statements.

Yes, the game has issues. Show me a game that doesn't. While I wasn't expecting the faction-limiting "unlimited" Tamriel, I have adapted quickly and find playing Caldwell's silver and gold just as fun as the originating AD.

What I enjoy about the game, which I'm sure others dislike, is the ease of access the game has for a variety of players. The controls are simple, we don't have to use an Excel spreadsheet for those 5/5/1 leveling ganks, and the amount of things to do has kept me busy for many weeks.

It's amazing how complaints like this I read before the XBox One release almost turned me away from the game. Glad my steadfast stance of ignoring the majority of gamer comments played its part.

This game is worth every red cent I've paid into it.

    Good job, ZoS! :)

Well, I see and agree that there are upsides to the game and my opinion might be a bit exaggerated... I blame this on the title. I was expecting an MMO with Elder-Scrolls-flair, and sadly, this game is everything but. Class system is the first and most obvious example.

Maybe it's not all Zenimax's fault and scramming through old threads, I see some positive actions done... But... My trust is broken. It's maybe harsh, but it's my feelings.

At least I could visit the Sumerset Isles in "true" 3D... That was worth a coin, I suppose!

    DAYUM!

I was expecting something to do with class abilities OP felt were bugged, or the Lag in Cyrodiil by the title, but to request the company never again make another product? Wow, that takes a bit of nerve to put it mildly.

Dear Zenimax, @ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom etc ... I love LOVE the game. I don't play it quite as constantly as I used to due to the fact that I'm setting about accomplishing different goals and don't want to rush things. (I'm the type of person that eats my cake slow and saves the icing for last). No, it's not perfect, sometimes it drives me mad, but nothing out there, and I've sampled quite a few now, takes it's place for me. I keep coming back to ESO.

I have never played any games in the Fallout franchise, but if you ever make a Fallout MMO, count me in as a potential customer.

Elder Scrolls Online is gorgeous, immersive and massive. If you could balance the classes in PVP a bit more, fix the lag in PVP and continue to roll out more and more soloable content, I just might keep playing this until the day I die, hopefully in the very distant future.

Please keep improving ESO and by all means, make more games in the future. You're doing a really good job!

Hold up. You think zerging is less "cowardly" than solo roaming? LMFAO

Yeah standing in a group with no chance of danger and having others do the work for you is real manly. :D

Knee Jerk, L2P, Obtuse, Casual, Entitled, All The Best, unnecessary mention of CoD

Battle leveling for pve content defeats the idea of progression. Remove CP

Zenimax Media is not all bad. In addition to Zenimax Online Studios, the company also owns Bethesda (Fallout 3-4, TES 3-4-5), id Software (Doom, Quake) and Arkane (Dishonored).
Don't let one rotten apple spoil the whole bushel.

I chuckled thread was not what I expected.

Zos will just be renamed before their next epic misadventure. They should call themselves Stibbons online or something

    @J2JMC:
No, you misunderstood. I despise that *** ideology that is ruling PvP atm. Because it eliminates all possible interesting things there could be to combat. Cyrodiil is pretty much decided by numbers on consoles, which is just plain boring.

    @Gyudan:
Bethesda, yes, Zenimax, no. I can't help, but this game is such a huge letdown for a series which games could have a place in my heart with so little effort, just because it's Elder Scrolls... It's... I'm at a loss for words.
