Can't create new character, "Validating Name - Please wait" and nothing happens! Please help!

After entering my characters details I choose "triangle" to finish and enter a name, the game tells my "VALIDATING NAME - Please wait". After a few seconds the game throws me back to the character creation interface where I left before I pressed "triangle". No message appeared, nothing happens!
I tried different names as I first thought the name I entered was rejected. But it doesn't matter what name I enter, I am not able to complete the character creation process.
I really wished I could create a new character to play with my GF. Please help!

abolechanderSoul ShrivenAfter lots and lots of retries I finally managed to create my character. I suspect the server load was too high or it was due to maintenance on the european server. Either way, now I am able to enjoy the game - thanks!0
