I have emailed about this but I literally only have this weekend to play so want this sorted asap!
I bought the game last year but haven't played it at all yet .. after doing password retrievals etc, I have now downloaded the game and tried to log in, to no avail.
My log in details work on the website, but not in the actual game.
Totally confused.

Check on your account page that the game registration code is added and active. If you bought it from anywhere, other than direct from ZOS, you need to manually redeem it. These seems to be the most common cause of this problem0
