At a time of chaos and turmoil, children from all across tamriel have been taken by an evil Argonian Thieves guild. They were raised in captivity, forced to learn their captors evil ways and endured the harsh environment of Black Marsh. The intentions of the evil guild is still unknown till this day.
Amisdt the events surrounding the formation of the Ebonheart Pact, a brave few has escaped their captors and ran off as far away as they can, eventually landing on the shores of khenarthi's roost.
Armed with the skills and the scars they have endured during their captivity, these brothers and sisters in chains has vowed revenge on their Argonian captors and their allies.
They kept the names branded to them by the evil reptiles as a reminder of all the pain and torment they have suffered, and have joined the Aldmeri Dominion as a means to an end... Paint Tamriel with Argonian blood.

Have you ever been in the vicinity of one of the dreaded lag zergs? These are zergs full of people intentionally spamming AOEs to cause (and the exploit) lag. Or at least, that's what I keep hearing about on these forums. I don't PVP, so I've never encountered this myself.Sallington wrote: »
"...lag out the server." Do you mean an overload to the GPU or lag across the entirety of Cyrodiil? I think I've spent a total of eight (8) collective hours in PVP, most of which in zergs or large-scale keep defense events, and never experienced the supposed God-awful lag people complain about. Has there been a more specific cause to this "lag?"

No I haven't. But I have been in the middle of a ~80 player battle, AOEs going off everywhere, and never experienced the "lag" people talk about here.

You seem to be one of the few. It would be nice to round up those who are seemingly unaffected by this and get specifics and system specs, location to server, internet connection, add-ons etc...
Maybe that would help narrow down why some people experience this lag.
There's GPU/fps lag and then there's latency. We're talking about latency caused by AoE calculations requiring more network chatter thus causing more lag. The latency causes a self-feeding loop of lag.

Remove AOE?
What's AOEbarbeque gonna do? change his name to SingleTargetBarbeque; doesn't have the same ring...
Essentially yes. They would crap a gold brick if they actually emulated such a network for debugging purposes. It's just easier to drive blind:There's GPU/fps lag and then there's latency. Which could be possibly enhanced by a low/bogged down network from client to server?
