Kinda apposite, whether you think the Merkins are evil or not in an MMO.

let me get to a point at least, before the trolls rush in like gibbering simpletons, correcting grammar, and debating semantics without actually saying anything.

For the first time since launch I can actually say kudos to Zenimax et al, kudos to the devs and of course Kudos to all the players, as importantly who worked hard to make this game finally work.

If however I may add one caveat, people who complain, deride are the most often are the biggest patriots and the most interested in keeping the game goingl but, one must remember we must keep vigilant against the min maxers who seek to make the game all about them, not of course those who min maxers who don't. The selfish people who seek to degrade community, the people who seek to destroy our fun, are ignoble and we must seek to chastise and stop them.

We must of course help all new players, be considerate and kind, no matter how newb the question. If you build it they will come.

If I can finally get to a point though, what are you doing to make a community, and if so here is your platform, do feel free to wax on like The Karate kid on steroids crack and PCP, what are you not doing, what are the people who are just in it for themselves not doing, if indeed there are any.

Off-topic, why the constant hate for min-maxxing?

Isn't that the entire point of an RPG to begin with? Name one respected RPG that doesn't have tons of math involved, tons of items that give percentage bonuses to specific stats, so on.

Whenever people parody or satirize RPG's, they always say things like "Battleaxe of +10 Promiscuity". The math part of RPG's has become a meme of its own, it's what defines the entire genre. So why hate the act of actually computing the math?

Why hate min-maxxers? Do you not realize their complaints make the game more balanced, thus more enjoyable, for you as a player? I would love it if Zenimax actually listened to the min-maxers, but they don't, thus we have a game where everyone only ever picks a small handful of the ten races available, a game where certain skills and items are woefully underpowered compared to others.

On-topic, just like his last thread I can not tell what point, if any, the OP was trying to make.

What am I doing?

Contemplating watching LOTR The two towers while I wait for the ridiculously slow ESO client to preamble along.

After, I might go into the game.

Only problem is I still cant get over the fact they made it B2P after saying at launch this would always be a subscription based game. I feel cheated out of my 6 month subscription yet also kind of glad I stopped for the second time [the first stop was not by choice when I was 4 days overdue] back in November.

I can't decipher the Barack Obama part. I know what a patriot is though. Would you be able to make the same analogy with a George Bush (43) quote so that I may compare the two and decipher your intent?

Min/maxing is fine in the privacy of your own off-line RPG, but it frequently becomes toxic when applied in an MMO .. that's where 'come as class X with spec Y or GTFO' attitudes come from.

@Calrid, I really don't think patriot means what you think it does, seriously, your OP has nothing to do with patriotism. If it says anything it seems an invective against trolls in the most general sense, which is a reasonable subject for a sermon, but the 'P' word seems entirely unconnected.
