Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 8, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

Why our guild left ESO.

This is very difficult to write because I love the Elder Scrolls series and always will.

In the very recent past, there was a new patch that was released that finally implemented the last phase of what is known as "The Champion System". I'm all for change, especially if its in the right direction and this "Champion System" is in the right direction. The execution however is not. The problem here is that there is ZERO new maps, dungeons, trials, and delves to grind this on. So it feels like they smacked all the max level characters in the face. All the same maps, dungeons, and delves we have been grinding since early access (March 30th of last year) is what they are expecting us to grind up to get these champion points.

I don't know if anyone else feels the same way about this but I don't want to spend the next year grinding the same content over and over again to make my character earn most of these powerful passives. Also, what about my alts??? Champion point passives aren't account wide so if I wanted to get my other max level characters more powerful passives I would have to spend another year grinding on them. I've have also received word that there was a hotfix that nerfed the enlightenment you receive so once you get a champion point your enlightenment ends. Then there was the places people were grinding to get these points, the best spots in the game have also been nerfed.

I imagine this post to be thread-locked because I'm i am criticizing the game and developers on their execution of a new system that basically nerfs all the players and buffs all the mobs and monsters while simultaneously not adding any type of new dungeons, worlds, trials, or delves to explore. They absolutely refuse to listen to reason or a logical well thought out argument. They believe they are right and no one else is. Even in guild summits they will listen to everyone's comments/concerns and give haphazard explanations/answers and the stuff we suggested to them never actually makes it to anyone that can do anything about it.

Because of these issues, The guild I am in has left the game until new content to actually explore and play is released.

Sorry ESO fam,

But the developers sucked the fun right out of the game and made it feel like a job.

If you would like to join us we are now in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
Our Datacenter is Aether (coincidence)
Our Server is Faerie

A.D. was the last one standing in the lore. E.P. and D.C. fighting us is pointless because we won in the end anyway.

While I agree that the Champion System is completely flawed in execution, it seems a bit weird that you're leaving when you clearly don't understand how the system works.

I hope that you don't misunderstand something in your new game so that you have to leave that too.

Oh, BTW, for those of us who don't much enjoy 1990s group-or-die simply to level, or those whose passion is PVP, WE haven't had any new leveling content SINCE RELEASE, you guy had THREE updates which added content purely aimed at people like you.

Sorry to see you go, OP.Ttruer words have not been spoken. The Champion System is nothing more than ZOS trying to mask the ugly reality that they have failed to deliver new content as promised with the soon-to-be-discontinued sub fee. The game is almost a year old and the only new content during the past year has been Craglorn (which is 10 months old) and two vet dungeons. ZOS is as bad at releasing new content as it is fixing performance issues in Cyrodiil.

From the hazy and confusing posts they made about account-wide champion points it was my understanding that any champion points you earn are account wide. Not the passives that come with them when you unlock them. If I am in error that's fine, but that still isn't enough to keep me in this game that still has no new content.

Well, I would say good riddance. It will less whining on the forums and game will be better for the rest who are not in a rush :)
I am here until I'll see another MMORPG with better graphics. Personally I would like to have more professions like spellcrafting, probably scroll making, jewerly making, etc. But group/PVP is not even in top 100 for me to consider. I enjoy solo PVE content. So more solo DLCs would be great.
Unfortunately, this forum is basically driving by the pvp/group/guild mob and sometimes ZOS listens to them, which is really BAD for the rest. So the less pvp/group/guild *** will be here is the better for the game.

You just have to understand that no team is going to be able to create content at the speed you are devouring it. Been playing since beta with a couple breaks and just hit VR7.

My advice is that you take a break and come back and start a new character and earn a ton of champion points on them once you hit 50. You know..they are account wide so you can do that...

Yes, champion points are account-wide. So what's stopping you from unlocking the same passives on your lower level characters? They have exactly the same number of points at their disposal as your main.

    I beg to differ.

Craglorn came out 2 Months (in middle of May) after the initial game came out.

Northern Craglorn was released in September.

I've even been off the map in Craglorn, Deshaan, Reaper's March, Greenshade, and Grahtwood trying to find new areas that haven't been placed yet and nothing.

You earn them into an account wide pool, and each character gets to spend the champion points you earn: even characters that aren't high enough level to be earning CP. So say your account-wide pool has 70 CP, and you've got 5 characters. Each of those 5 characters gets to spend 70 CP. Then let's say you create a 6th character. That new character also gets to spend 70 CP.

So you're right and wrong. The passives that you buy on 1 character aren't account-wide, but the points that you use to buy them are account-wide, which is better than making the passives account-wide, because under this system you can choose different passives for different characters if you want, or you choose the same ones if you want. It's more flexible.

My only issue with champ points for alts is that it should have been implemented like rift - the champ point xp bar is shared between chars rather than seperate.
My big question is why has this system caused you to leave? For months you have been farming the same content for no reason at all. With the system the only change is now you actually get to develop your char. If anything, if you were happy before, you should be more happy now.
If you were not happy before, this patch hasn't changed anything if stuff to do was your issue and you would be leaving anyway.

I'm confused. Is the OP leaving (a) because there's no new content - which is no different post-update than it was pre-update, (b) because he doesn't understand the CP system, or (c) because ZOS have removed the enlightenment bug and nerfed the grind exploit spots?

It is shared i believe, just delay or you get the champ point when the exp on different chars overlap. #gamewasjusttoohard
