Point being that there has been different scalings now based on some data collectors. And they yell big nerf... and my personal feeling while actually playing the game and not comparing numbers is that I feel bit more powerful than before.

I don't put very much stock in personal feels.

It's a useful metric for some things, but when measuring character power, I'll take hard numbers, thanks. : )

Based on numbers how can you say is your char better or worse than before when the numbers are not exactly comparable.

Of course they are exactly comparable, the ratios of how the stats were actually boosted (instead of exactly x10) have been floating around the forums since 1.6.

It's also very easy to compare one's character sheet data on live as compared to PTS, then look through the Champion System to take into account any missing passives. Then you can have a pretty clear idea of whether your relative character power has gone up or down.

For exact comparison first you need to know the exact multipliers and changes to mob damade, health, etc and then all the multipliers and changes to the chars, attributes changed, enchantments changed, etc and some changed 1.1x, some 1.7x, some 1.9x etc. It's possible but I doubt that people have made good comparison sheet or similar with the different multipliers to different things. Instead people tend to use generic 1.7x or people who know even less use the 10x directly.

Now purely looking at own char PTS statistics and attributes in comparison to Live doesn't yet tell how you perform in game since well armors are changed too and the mobs are changed too. Based on the stats you look you cannot say can you survive as well against 5 mobs as you did in Live unless you go on and test it, of course changed skills reflect this situation too and what one uses in situation.
Not that how a game "feels" isn't important; it is. It's just not a very good metric for determining exactly how your character measures up.

"I can do 12k DPS sustained, self-buffed." tells me a lot more than "I can kill things pretty fast".

By the same token "It takes me 20 seconds less time on average per mob to kill these VR10 mobs w/ a sample size of 100 on PTS" is more telling than "I feel like I kill things faster now"

Now I'm agreeing. Hard tests in game tells more than looking at statistics sheet. This is why I'm saying one cannot just base assumption if we are nerfed or boosted in 1.6 based on stat sheet comparison of Live and PTS. And I'm kinda tired of seeing yells of nerfs because this stat seems to be lower on PTS than in Live using this possible multiplier. True some skills are clearly changed and nerfed but overall character nerf?

As side note bit of nerf would not harm anyway, people are seeing this game too easy already anyway.
