Can an enemy-player just cc-break inside the "nerfed" negate in 1.6?

Since negate magic has been nerfed i've been trying to come into terms with it.

So if an enemy can just throw in infinite ground-effects inside the negate, players inside it should be TRULY silenced to make up for it.

No cc-break and impulse-spam inside an absorption-field, it never made sense!

Eric Wrobel mentioned in the livestream that negate kinda "trivialized" pve-mechanics and pvp-ultimates, well, cc-break trivializes negate.

I'm just sayin'

Negate only negates what is already on the ground when you drop it. So if you drop the Negate and then afterwards an enemy player runs in and drops his ultimate or whatever it will NOT be negated. That is my understanding of it now...

They basically shot the skill in the head behind the shed... lol.

They might still be able to CC break Negate... but honestly all any player has to do is dodge roll out and then walk back in and they'll probably be fine. I honestly have not tried it since the nerf... seems like a dead ultimate to me. I'm running out of ultimates man... wtf.

Simply not worth casting anymore, if i want my enemies to cc-break i can throw a meteor or an atronach you know.

If they at least can NOT EVER cast any magic while standing in it, negate would be worth slotting again.

It still has the power to wipe out all other ultimates though....

All other ultimates have the power to wipe out negate. It has really nothing ahead of them but does no damage.

yea, sure, now that they made it so you gain ult again from blocking, those "pro" dks that perma block cast with sword/shield are gonna drop their ults again in seconds after someone puts a negate, he'll laugh, 5 secs later hes gonna put another one

They should remove the negate- and silence-part, throw in a snare and a DoT, rename it and be done with it i say.

What if you were to, say, drop Shifting Standard, have it Negated, then redrop it?

    That's just dumb.

Negate Field (FIELD!!!) should negate everything within its range for the tooltip duration.

I don't think that is possible. The option to move it should vanish once it's negated.

You're probably right. I did not test this, so I was curious. But if it was possible, I'd probably have already heard about it. :)

I'm ok with the change, to a degree. Reduce the duration because now there no point having it there so long. I mean seriously, it gets rid of the bad, why leave it up to cause lower fps for even longer. Then reduce the cost a little. Or as some else said, give it a smal dot, like while standing in it x amount of dmg, or maybe some kind of debuff, like armor reduced by xxxx amount.

I actually kinda like the changes to Negate as it was a bit too much of a trivializer before. Instead of moving out of stuff just.. meh, negate. Not to mention in PVP which has gone from alliance war to negate war. It's still powerful just to be able to wipe out enemy ultis, and since you don't need to slot Flawless Dawnbreaker anymore you can keep it on your offbar for backup. I can see many situations in group PVP where people rush in drop 3 banners and a nova where a Sorc can still save the entire group from a wipe by dropping a negate over them. I'm not sure how much the cost was reduced though? It should be like 200 now, to be fairly balanced imo.

Negate was too powerful. However it was nerfed a bit too hard.
200 Ult cost to clear ground just once while not providing any other major advantages is too much.
The example you provided with ennemies insta-dropping 3 ults at the same spot is not valid for me. Those would be terrible players. A group playing properly would drop one banner, wait for it to be negated and then drop the nova in the middle of the negate. The nova would annihilate the negate.
Currently, the situation is that almost every zone ult cast on top of an enemy one kind of equalize the field. However for a similar cost, negate does not bring enough side advantages to be worth slotted.
And this is only speaking from a PvP perspective. On the PvE field, negate is now almost useless.

Would not mind the new negate if it cost 75 or so Ult and if the spell effect was updated to not sit around like a sore thumb for x seconds.
