Is Suppression Field worth it with resistance cap?

I'm talking more about in PvP.
It gives a lot of spell resistance to allies but what if those allies are capped or close to capped? Is it just a waste? That would make it not nearly as useful as Absorption Field.
Or does it add spell resistance beyond the cap? That would make it highly useful.
