Client will not update properly, or install. PLEASE HELP

DovahkiinKreiger313
Ever since V1.2.2 my client has not wanted to work at all, no matter how many re installs, un installs, repairs to the launcher it's self, trouble shooting all known issues and even changing my DNS server for a bit...has not helped my issue, my download will show 25k mgb's left to download and not budge except maybe a few 100 bites, and it will freeze...my % downloaded will also remain at 0 or sometimes even get to 50% but hasn't done that in days..I have reset my modem, unplugged it and waited, and still nothing...not to mention my download speed is like 100 kilo's..

my diag if it helps...I currently have the game uninstalled cuz i just don't care anymore..lol I know I am not alone, I have seen others with this problem but it seems even their solutions don't help..glad I bought imp edition a week ago....

Sometimes 3rd party programs like anti virus and what not will keep it from installing. Did you try running as administrator and turning off Anti Virus or at least allowing it in your antivirus program? Also do you have addons? if so remove them from your folders.

I have AVG and have turned it off and allowed it through as an exception, even after I re install just to be sure. And any ESO add ons? Well I don't believe I do, I believe I deleted them as well, Will the log in exe be installed once the game updates? I have the launcher installed properly I believe and have just been trying to update...

Reinstall and get us the game.developer.log file and attach here. It says what it is doing.

Do you have the Windows Firewall on? I ask as you don't say which AVG you have.

My firewall is on, but I did try to turn it off at one point, and I don't think it had any effect..

    Greetings @DovahkiinKreiger313‌

Could please disable your firewall and your anti-virus software and try the following:
    • Open the launcher in administrator mode, you can do this by right clicking on the launcher and selecting "Run as administrator" from the drop down menu.
    • Go to game options. This is located in the middle of the launcher under the news feed.
    • Cancel any update in progress.
    • Return to game options and select settings.
    • In setting change auto update from always to never.
    • Press apply.
    • Select the cog wheel up the top right hand corner of the launcher.
    • Select the megaserver you want to change to ( EU or NA)
    • Once this is complete go back to game options and select check for updates. This should start to patch the game for your new server.
    • If it does not patch select repair from game options and wait for the repair to finish.
    • Once the repair has finished select check for updates.
    • Please note that you should turn back on auto update once everything is patched and updated so you don't miss any valuable updates in the future that would stop you from playing the game.

We also moved that thread to the CS forums as it was a better fit for that category.
