Reduce the cost of the subscription

Given the troubles that knows this game, would not it make sense to offer a cheaper subscription to keep your players ?

My subscription ends in 11 days and given the current state of the game I do not even going to pay € 13 to play a Beta. I might consider making a penny from 5 to 8 € at most to financially support your desperate efforts but certainly no more!

    Sure. Unsubscribing. Fixed.

What are you gonna do when you have to take a fortress with 5 other people at most or wait 3 days to have a group of 4 people in a dungeon ? :D

The o my reason I could imagine complaining about a measly $15 would be if I was still mooching off my parents or working part time at McDonalds...seriously enough with these subscription QQ threads...I spent $26 on lunch today for myself. I spent $10 o so my kid could have some ice cream with me.... $15 is nothing for hours of entertainment. And if its that big of a deal....

    Don't play.

The cost is really not that much by comparison...I will say that the current server downtime and some of the issues that continue may turn your focus to the subscription price.

What you're really saying is the entertainment value of this particular game is not worth $15/month or even $12/month for you. I respect that as I feel the same way.

I happened to get a Father's day gift which gave me 60 days access again but I was done in May paying for this.

When my subscription runs out..its out.
The game is a good game and I enjoy playing it honestly but I do not feel the value of the game is at $12 to $15/month at this state of the game.

There is nothing wrong with your observation. This is great for some and meh for others.

The man told you he gets hours of entertainment from just $15, and you make such *** comparisons?

Seriously dude, I'm over 500h playtime, I haven't encountered a single bug in the last 2 months. For $15 I get more entertainment than if I'd visit cinema everyday..I'm working part time and this is still just ridiculously cheap for me.

The lower the subscription price goes, the more whiny kids will play the game, and the more people will play just to "troll". F2P games being the best example.

I say raise the price to $20/month. Keep the mature players who actually enjoy ESO. It would still be the cheapest bill I pay, by a long shot.

Lol 20? This truly is bad joke. Will all honesty I do agree with OP in a way.

If you place sub fee for 5-8 you will for sure have more players. (more populated game leads to more profit)

When you say it will bring more trolls and elitists to the game I completele disagree. There is huge number of those already. Especially in PvP area.

This baffles me. If you like the game enough to play it regularly, it's probably eating 20+ hours a week of your time -- let's call it 75/ month. The cost/ hour difference you propose is tiny. That's the decider for you?

If I like a game, I still like it at $15 a month, $20 a month or $1 a month. If I don't like it, $0 a month won't change my mind. My time also has value.

I ate 26 bugs for lunch once, but it was free.

$15 is just about .50 a day. Even for bad service, is worth it.
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

When a player complains about the cost of subscriptions, and includes in his complaint issues with performance, bugs or lack of content on a released MMO, a lot of old-hats like myself start making some rather obvious conclusions. These assumptions aren't always right ... there are exceptions. But I'd still put my money on them first.

Argument One: "I think playing $15 a month is too expensive!"
Assumption One: The player has never played a subscription MMO before.
Reasoning for One: If they had, they would realize that $15 a month is standard. Complaining about a standardized cost that has been in place for over 15 years (despite inflation in everything else), while game production levels have also risen and internet has become more reliable, reeks of ignorance.

Argument Two: "There's not enough content!"
Assumption Two: The player fast-clicked through quests, doesn't PvP, and hasn't looked at his achievement board.
Reasoning for Two: There is always content if there is PvP, and skipping content entirely makes a bad argument that there's nothing to do, kinda like a teenager opening a fridge full of food and complaining cause there's nothing to eat, when they really mean 'there are no burgers or pizza in this fridge.'

Argument Three: "This game is going to go free to play!"
Assumption Three: The player doesn't understand game development and MMO business management.
Reasoning for Three: Looking at those games that did start subscription, and then went free-to-play, the internal problems of the games themselves were very different and have little in-common. Instead, the companies that developed and managed those games had more in common. Games don't go F2P cause players quit and subscribers dwindle (else every game on the market except EvE Online would be F2P). They go F2P because their marketing company can't afford the cost of real-time development and management, and instead pass for less work-intensive F2P processes. Look at Cryptic/Perfect World, Electronic Arts and Turbine's management practices.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

WoW got away with charging $15 a month and millions of players paid it. So it's the industry standard now even if the game is all buggy like this one. Don't worry though, I'm sure some game will come out and charge more and set a new price of like $30 a month or maybe even $50 soon and we will pay it because we are stupid like that :p

Games obviously not for you. So take care. Have fun with whatever game out there does suit your particular tastes.

Certainly don't want them changing the format of this game to conform to people with won't be happy with it no matter how it plays out.
