I hate that i want to love this game, but cant. (for devs please read)

First off i am a huge ES fan. Been playing since beta, and imo the game STILL feels like a beta. I have played ES since morrowind, and mmos since vanilla wow. This game was fun for me until i hit about level 35, and i realized something. I miss being able to queue up for a bg like warsong gulch, and kick some butt in small scale pvp. Or even having a friendly DUEL (come on zeni, no dueling? fail!!!!). Cyrodiil is fun, but has no rewards. Its a big zerg fest that requires no individual skill, as long as your army has more people then the opposing faction(s), you win. End game is a big joke, trials being done in 10 minutes? Thats your idea of end game raiding? Not even any gear too? You have a flawed system if people can craft items better then items found in end game dungeons, what incentive does a player have to do them if you can craft legendary? If this wants to survive as a real MMO, add some damn world pvp outside of cyrodiil, raids, and a bg and/or arena system to cater to pvp players like myself.

Im sure many will respond saying "if you want arenas/ small scale pvp and raids go play something else". I say your damn right im going to! (in particular i just picked up wildstar because im burnt on wow, which by the way does not feel like a beta game, and has complete content, housing, amazing path system and all the likes, and is incredibly FUN). This is NOT a ws fanboy post, as i am a truly ES fanboy! I love ES and always will! i WANT this game to succeed. But this game just needs too much changes to be enjoyable for me at end game and keep me hooked. This is not an "i quit" thread, because i hope to come back to this game soon if they devs add some raiding and bgs/dueling. Player housing too would be nice. I did not write this post for the players, i wrote this in hopes the DEVS see it and take a hint! It disgusts me this game is 3 months out, should of not even been released for another year imo with the amount of content LACKING.

I admit, the past 4-5 months i have been blinded by the ES name, not even bothering to research other upcoming MMOs. I had my sights set on this game and i forced myself to enjoy it. I now play wildstar and even though it has no backbone lore (old books and games, like how eso has the ES single player series, or like how wow has the original warcraft games, WS has none of that) BUT the story is new and exciting, the gameplay kicks ass, and i found myself drawn into the lore more then ESO's lore, even with text dialogue! The exile in particular. Aurin beleifs in "the weave", the mordesh seeking a cure for their curse, its all new and fun and exciting. With the features and gameplay to back it up, Eso has a run for its money.

I still have faith in the devs to fix this game, for the love of god please. or this will go down in history as the most hyped, biggest failed MMO to date. I would hate to see all the hardcore gamers to say "i told you so". I want to see this game succeed and grow into an amazing game. But right now, this game is unfinished, buggy, unbalanced, bad gameplay mechanics, and downright HORRIBLE. Thanks for reading, i hope the devs see this.

I hope to be back in Tamriel soon! Until then, this game not worth 15$ a month, nevermind 60/80(if you actually want the complete game, which also ticks me off as i only ever play imperial race!)

Peace and Love to all, Jeff

Luck to you. Sounds to me that, with your comparison of WoW and WoW/S, that you might have even larger concerns to deal with, including combat system, lack of holiday events, lack of quest hubs, lack of dailies, lack of gear grind, etc.

Maybe. If small scale PvP is all you are missing, then I sense you'll be back before too long. But if there's a list of things that maybe even you, the Op, haven't really considered you require for an MMO, it's entirely possible ESO is not for you.

Good luck on WoW/S when WoW launches it's expansion. I sincerely doubt it'll hold over well during that time period.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

Wall of text + "Devs please read" ≠ Devs will read.

Nor any post for that matter.

I didnt read all of that, but honestly, Wildstar would be better for you.

Arena PVP and small scale PVP fights are usually over before they begin. They're determined by class, template and gear score check. Unless its an FPS were talking about, MMO 1v1's are really a joke.

Open world PVP inserts a lot of variables into the equation. Prideful EPeen type players often cant handle the fact that a player with inferior build or gear could potentially track you down and kill you, because they can wait until the conditions are favorable before they bother attacking you. And I can feel the rage. That's the nature of open world PVP, zergs are just all about the objective. Avoid the objective and you avoid the zerg, its not hard.

As for crafting, its good they can make superior items, because it supports another playstyle and it offers variety. It's an attempt by the devs to draw in a playerbase that is not completely dominated by aforementioned EPeeners. Im sensing a theme here.

As I mentioned, Wildstar/WoW for you (is there a difference)?

I do not intend to go play WoW, as i said i am burnt out on it. I played it for over 8 years. The next time i play a blizzard MMO is when they release their next one, or if WOD gets really good reviews then i might try it out. But right now WS is my go to MMO, followed by ESO.

I enjoy alot of aspects of ESO, including the combat. I think its great, i just dont get to use the combat system to test my skills in small scale pvp, which is where i get adrenaline rushed and the most fun doing.
