Considering I pointed out two big fallacies with two of the bigger examples I've seen lately about reddit, I don't think I missed the point.
I use both sites and find useful information on both, though I do find more useful info not from ZoS employees on other sites than this one.
If you worked for me working customer service/social media and I ran ZoS I would definitely have you spending a given amount of time on a site like reddit. That might mean you would miss a question on one site or the other when you were on one of the two and answer it wherever you are at. It happens. Do what reddit does, publish a thread and link to it, they don't cry that info is posted somewhere else, they post it and link it.
That subreddit is run pretty well compared to some other as well. They have all the ZoS folks tagged so they stand out, they allow any sort of self promotion, something most subreddits forbid, etc. It's a solid community and people should quit whining about ZoS actually responding to customers just b/c it wasn't on this forum.
Thanks for the link.Provided is a link to todays patch notes posted on reddit. If you scan through the responses you will see questions and issues being responded to by @ZOS_GinaBruno. ZOS on Reddit

Another post made by an apologist using apologist approved jargon like whining. You did miss the point. I am not debating the merits of using social media. I am not asking you to apologize for why they fail to communicate here on the official forums. I am asking if we are better served by communicating there since given the evidence, they are more apt to reply there.
Wow you really are struggling. I meant the reddit forums arent full of "this game is crap" threads and maybe thats why ESO favours them.... Is that clear?
Your post still implies that there are posts like what you describe here on these forums, again I ask you to provide links.
Go back, read again, this time....concentrate!
I know what you meant. With your statement, you imply that these forums have those types of threads...nevermind. You are now trolling.

right. i am trolling when i question your comprehension but you weren't when questioning mine? whatever

Well, twice you've not listened to what I said or you would have caught the point about both the big things people "whined" about here lately were actually info on this site first, not reddit. Though I'm sure some info has appeared on reddit first, especially when they do an AMA (interview/ Q&A type thing).
But you have my opinion, I have yours. Don't care if you want to stay upset over it.

Look at his posts in this thread, he's the one trolling. Just leave him be.

We do consider the official ESO forums our priority and primary site for communication, but that doesn't mean we won't answer a question on Reddit, MMORPG.com, TESO Elite, or any other fansite we have a presence on just because it isn't our official forums. You'll notice we always post big updates here, such as the Templar and Stamina skills updates we shared last week. If you compare our posts here via the dev tracker, you'll find we post significantly more on the official forums than anywhere else combined; suggesting otherwise is simply not true.
The reality is, there may be times we post an answer to something elsewhere before we do here. It isn't us showing preferential treatment; rather, that is simply where we happened upon the question first.
Thank you for the honest reply and information. Perception is the same questions asked here are answered elsewhere because the presence on those sites is more noticeable with the individual responses from ZOS staff.

You're welcome. And nope, that's not the case at all. We often have multiple tabs open all day, checking in here, and on multiple fan communities. It's just a matter of timing and where we see a question first. There's no nefarious strategy behind it. If anything, our posts are the most noticable here because of our handy dev tracker.

I don't mean to play Devil's Advocate but I remember the time of the Vamp OPness in pvp, the forums were filled with threads and posts with no answer and the answer came from reddit, with someone from reddit pasting it to the forums

Yes, it's not the biggest group nor widest reach to your customers. And yes, most people come here when they have some kind of problem or complaint with the game. But that right there is the very reason why you should put much more effort into community building and actively working at providing a more welcoming atmosphere.
Official boards and it's communities are mulitipliers when it comes to customer satisfaction. Currently, these boards are doing you a disservice.
Good response. What I thought but nice to have the communication.

Seeing people talk about upcoming changes in the game and think "What the heck? I read both the main website and the forum each and every day and I never heard anything about this!" only to find out it was only posted on Reddit.
Sorry, but moments like that, even though rare, are very annoying.
Spend all the time you want/need on whatever social media platform (you should), but please make sure to always inform people through the official website and forums as well. Otherwise just shut this forum down since it is then just one of the many instead of the source to go to.

My question, why do those posting issues and questions get rapid response on the non official forum? Do we need to create accounts there and voice our questions/concerns on reddit? Or would we just get moderated/down voted into non existence there?

first of all how do you know they are even the same ppl? i mean its not that hard to sound intelligent about a game nowadays you know what i mean? it could just be someone who made that name on that website?

They ARE posted here. It is rumors and posts like this that creates a wrong perception about the information we get here. Users simply take your word for it instead of searching themselves.
About the timing, WHEN a fact/statement is posted here is not only unimportant, but also not included in the service you bought.
If you read the section about information given by Zenimax, it is not included to post anything at all.
We get this for free, which you are complaining about.

First of all, how did you come under the impression I was speaking for anyone else, but me?
Second, I know community interaction here is very low, because I've been member, moderator and admin on many boards out there. Hence I know that when and how you moderate, how you set up or layout your board and how much and in which way you interact with your community has a very strong effect on how it will evolve.
But that right there is the very reason why you should put much more effort into community building and actively working at providing a more welcoming atmosphere.
