Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

Been playing SWTOR again for a while, came back to the forums here to see what's what.

I still log on and feed my 2nd horse. My sub is active for like another month. But what surprises me is the topics that still exist on this forum. I'm surprised so much disappoint is just sustained here. I would've thought it died away by now.

I'm more curious now to see what happens with the game. If this many people are unhappy then doesn't something have to happen? Or do you think they'll be able to just ride it out anyway and be marginally profitable?

I don't want to see the game fail, but it would be a testament and a guide to let the developers know they didn't meet the community's expectations. Playing SWTOR again, it feels like a real mmo. I might come back and finish off the VR++ content on my khajiit nightblade, but for now he's a sleeping kitty.

Cute cats. I just wanted to highlight the fact that advertising other MMOs on the forum is forbidden by the forum code.

I guess this topic will be deleted as it has no purpose.

Should have stayed here. Both awful games but at least this one is still getting some attention from the devs. Albeit the wrong kind, they are still acknowledging it's existence.

edit: I am going to go the rest of my day wondering what in the hell crap games you have been subjected to, that you think swtor feels like a "real" mmo. Even wow is a better game and hands down, Dark Age of Camelot is worlds above all of them and almost the oldest of the lot next to EQ.

dunno, guess im not young enough to think garbage like runescape or pokebads were fun.

Wife and I have been alternating between SWTOR and ESO. While we've been on since early release, we're still lowbies (low 30s).

Unlike SWTOR, in ESO we can't cooperatively play the main story dungeons (forces solo play), so we're skipping that part (and other forced-solo quests) until the developers fix that giant $%#@-up.

From reading what Grey has said, so you mean "real" mmo in the pve sense. Okay, I get that. Because yes, while this and that are still games that play out terribly, at least you can actually group in sw:tor while actually completing the same objectives.

I sort of miss SWTOR, but I have already maxxed all the characters (unless they have raised the cap). I sort of enjoyed the PVP.

Right now you couldn't pay me to continue my character. I'm just having more fun elsewhere. I'm glad you're "having fun" though. My wife is the biggest fangirl for TES and ESO there is and you can see how much more fun she's having elsewhere too. She just doesn't want to admit it.

It's cute. It's not like I'm trying to rub it in. This was her idea that we should play the game. I gave it my best shot, did more than she did. This was the first mmo we've played together that I've just lost interest in right away. From EQ, to EQ2, to SWTOR, to FFXIV.

The forum mood will get better one way or another. It will either get better because they make drastic changes to the game to add in missing content and features (which might be to tall an order), or it will get better because all the people who refuse to pay for premium content they aren't getting, will run out their subs and no longer be able to post on the forums.

I am the latter group, hoping to transition to the former group. It's just a race against time at this point.

I quit reading when you said SWTOR feels like i a real MMO. I will say it has more end game content. But if you consider grinding dailies on a few planets and sitting in the space port riding in circles a MMo . honestly i after playing SWTOR since phase 1 beta , the internal one not the preorder beta. i always said the same thing its a multiplayer lobby game far too linear and the engine is extremely poorand when i say poor it is horrible still to this day. they tried to improve it but the bottom line their modified hero engine sucks.

SWTOR was alright. The storylines were pretty good, especially for bounty hunters. The PvE was sort of boring, but not too bad. The PvP was actually pretty darn fun. SWTOR, while not the greatest in history, is still a lot more complete than ESO. So far, ESO just has the questlines finished with a couple of dungeons tacked on.

Aren't we all. I had such high hopes for this mmo.
TES is one of my favorite game series.
I've easily logged 500-1000 hours on each of them.

IMO, the best story-line of them all was the Imperial Agent.

now this is a legit complaint and how the QA and the internal beta let this pass ill never know.

I love SWTOR but all my slots are at max level.

As for Dev love in SWTOR they just added new space combat, housing (Strongholds with private apartments) and a few other things.

I'm fully convinced that QA testers never grouped. Because there's literally no other way that they couldn't have realized in an MMO we actually wanted to play together, and how difficult that would be.

    A) It's not a good bye thread. Clearly I said I planned on playing again if you read it.

B ) Look at my profile. I'm not a troll. You just don't like what I'm saying. I've done more for this community than you have.

Yep toss me into the same group. After the 3 months sub runs out, I might be done with ESO for a bit. I'm playing a little SWTOR (always liked the game), a little ESO, but more Wildstar than anything.

I think a lot of people are unhappy in any mmo. Let's for posterity say there are one million subscribers. 20% are unhappy. That mean 200,000 are unhappy. If 2000 are complaining, that's 1% of the 20% unhappy. There are maybe 20 people I see consistently posting complaints claiming to speak for everyone.

So.. like any MMO you can't please a million different people with a million different PoVs on how the game should be run.

Here, someone on the SWTOR forum says it sucks and they are leaving for Path of Exile. They claim there are so many bugs and clearly Bioware doesn't care about fixing them.
    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=7008157

Here on Grim Dawn there's a post where someone left Path of Exile for it complaining about numerous things.
    http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6656

Here's yet another where Grim Dawn sucks. This one doesn't mention going to a new game, but I don't feel like continuing. Three examples should be plenty.
    http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2674

If you really wanted, you could probably find a path through all the mmos this way. Simple solution, shut up and play or leave and play something else. Voicing opinions that you disagree with the way something is handled is perfectly fine, preferably in a constructive manner. This dangling other titles on a string and going "oh look what I'm playing with, it's SOOOO much more fun than what you're playing with" is asinine and gets old.
And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. All that is left, is whispers of the adventures they had.

I agree that Agent has the best story line.

SWTOR does many things that ESO didn't. Grouping to name one. I have never had a single issue grouping in SWTOR, I wish I could say the same in ESO but the group dynamic is so messed that most folks don't want to group. That's not good in an mmo

Extra 2 slots costs only 800 cartel coins I believe, less if on sale. I have 16 slots lol...and not a single max level toon - been playing since release but get sidetracked often for RL reasons.

I think starting July 1 is an entire week of double XP. Muahaha.

I hated TESO during 6 months of beta. Through the constant nagging of a buddy (guess what, the d...head quit he week after launch, of course) I gave the game a shot with live release. I knew better. That "buddy" is one of these mmo bandwagon game hoping types that game companies love. The attention span of a fly but an endless bankroll.

I wanted this game to work so much. For several reasons:
-Bethesda had a good history with ES games
-The market NEEDED a tri-realm RvR game again, since the stinky buyout of DAoC
-Gamers needed a fresh MMO overall that was willing to make it more about play than gear

That being a few reasons I wanted it to work and so, still gave it a shot.

Forcing players to go through the other campaigns was ignorant- it took away any allegiance to your home alliance. The quest givers, OMG, boring as hell and ramble forever. The amount of milk carton quests got a bit disgusting. So and so is missing, go fetch... Really? Nothing better? The lack of being able to group or complete quest as a group. Cross realming, cross factions, exploits, breaks, dupes, hacks, nerfs, constant hiccups. Even the fan boys made me sick this time around toting out the old excuse of "its new it will get better" when it was in fact ALL of the same broken crap we had reported for 6 months in beta.

all the regurgitated verbal vomit from every complaint topic but is so damn true is why this game is the worst offender of all recent games. It cost more at release, required the initial paid month to get your month with the title and wanting a sub fee on top of it >< !!!! TESO came out of the gate milking consumers.

Many of us had the highest of hopes and the initial titles sells showed that. Not even a fraction of those still believe. Soon even the wives, kids and most hardcore of fan boys will quietly exit the building
