Can't Log In: "Invalid Client" Error

I am getting an error for "Invalid Client" You've attempted to use an invalid or out-dated client. Please exit and update your client using the patcher.
After clicking this it closes the game.

I updated the client through the patcher prior to trying to log in. and do not have a current update to patch when relaunching the patcher.

The program shows Version: eso.live.1.0.7.980598

Hey there, @vaxure. Try clicking the Game Options setting at the top of the news feed on the launcher and selecting "Check For Updates." You should find the current client version there. Let us know if you're still unable to update your client.

Tried that but it didn't find anything

Also i do not see a current client version in the drop down

Update: Running a repair from the launcher fixed the issue, feel free to close the thread

had the same problem, had to go into program files zenimax to start launcher from there.
