Allocate GMs specifically to ban bots

You'd need maybe twelve for EU, and another twelve for US.

Have three in each alliance. And just have them watch the starter areas, where the majority of the bots are.

The farming bots, and the combat bots all have to go through the starter area to level up enough to bother the higher area places. With three people watching each starter area, and banning every *** account that bots, you're going to start drilling through the number of bots each time.

The game costs fifty bucks a pop. The bots are doing this for profit.

If you have just three people dedicated to finding and banning the bots, and their accounts (so they can't just make a new character), then you're going to start eating into their profits really, really, really quickly.

After a day you'll start to see the bots tapering off. After three or four, they wouldn't even bother. Why? Because they need to make 50 bucks of each and every account to remain profitable.

The only reason that the bots are so *** omnipresent is because there's nobody sitting down and physically banning them when they see them. Asking players to report them is ***. It doesn't do anything. Because those reports get lost in the ether.

But you can clearly see which players are bots and which are not. They have stupid names, they run around killing things or looting endlessly respawning jute, fly, travel under the ground, and never respond to anything you say.

Hell, I'll even fix the problem of 'maybe he's a bot or maybe he's not' for you!

Add a new interface element. Have it powered by Recaptcha. When a GM suspects you're a bot, but isn't quite sure, he can force this interface to pop up across your screen. And if you don't enter the captcha within a minute, you're kicked and/or banned.

If you just be smart about this and fight them with traditional means, you'll fix the damn problem. You don't need to punish your legitimate players with this *** diminishing loot. You don't need to ruin your entire *** game to get rid of the bots.

Just hire 12 new people for each megaserver to cycle through the different shards and ban the bots BEFORE they start doing damage (IE, selling all their *** and shipping off gold to 'paying customers'.)

Hell, I'd do it. For free. I run past fifty bots every single *** time I log in. I don't even bother reporting them any more. Why? Because there's FIFTY OF THE *** THINGS ON EVERY *** SHARD.

P.S.

Ban the little shitstains buying the gold, too. They're part of the problem.

I'd settle for one per server, who would do it full-time. Ofc, would need some rotation amongst the staff, no-one in their right mind would want to do this day to day, week to week ;)

The bots wouldn't last a week.

Each and every account ban is -50$. Do you really think they'd be making any kind of profit after even a day or two of their bot accounts getting banned with ten minutes to half an hour after entering the game?

    I think not.

First, this has been recommended in countless previous threads.

Second, if you think for a minute the gold-selling companies actually pay for their accounts you know little about that chancre on the genitalia of the gaming industry -- think hacked accounts and stolen credit card numbers.
