Another day in Tamriel another day of dying, repair costs and running out of soul gems due to this absurd lag.

Had some fun in Cyrodil, didn't seem so lagged there although my alliance is getting crushed that just means less far to travewl from the entry point to having some fun.

Decide to cruise back into VR5 mode and boy is it screwy again today in Reapers March - trying to close portals in Fort Grimwatch and as a NB it's bad enough they sic 3 mobs including casters onto you that have pre-detected you so that you can't stealth into it but when you add lag into the mix what is the effing point of even playing.

If ZOS are not able to provide a decent service they should have the decency to hold off taking more of our money until they are capable of doing so, in this month plus debacle it's time to show a bit of honesty and class and fix your mistakes.

The lag doesn't have anything to do with the EU server being in the US. The NA server is having the same issues at times, and they are working on it.

If that is the case I am sorry that the NA folks are suffering as well and would then suggest that no-one gets charged until they have corrected such a basic problem.

I can tolerate bugged quests 'cos they will get fixed in time, I can tolerate bugged skills 'cos although they make my life harder I can usually work around it or wait for a big tough DK or Sorc to help out - but in a game where combat is a necessity lag is a make or break element. It steals the fun.

Wifey & I just finished another discussion on whether we drop our 6 month sub down to a single month before it gets taken - we want to love this game, we want to commit to it being our gaming future but the lack of information and action from ZOS makes it very hard to do so.

Got 3 days to think about it before we make a final call - like I say, I want this game to succeed, it has so much good stuff going for it... but ZOS sometimes behave almost like they want it to fail.

NA is just as bad. Don't know why EU players seem to think it's going to get any better after the move. Combat lag is terrible in this game no matter where you live.

You have cleary no idea what latency is.

This is not about lag spikes that we all have... it´s about "ping" not beeing about 13 ms but beeing about 500+ ms.

    Stop trolling this post pls.

Take your lag and add a constant half a second at minimum to it at all times with additional lag spikes due to numerous bottlenecks.

Lots of people, including me, are not having lag problems.
  • Baerenknuddlerb16_ESO
On EU-servers we have a constant delay around 1 second. It happens when you press E-Key to interact with an object or an NPC or weapon swap (usually you die because you can't swap weapons in time). You move out of a red groud area but still get the damage. You block a special attack, the animation shows you blocked but you still get the damage.

If this happens on NE-servers, too, they should adress that problem as fast as possible. If that's just a problem for EU-players they should move the EU-Server as fast as possible. It's just frustrating to spend so much gold on repair costs caused by death-lags.

You have any number or is it just a guess?

Look at the other thread... few hundreds did post there about their lag problems.

Unfortunately they just recently said they are not moving the EU server to EU for sometime till they are able to combat botters, gold farmers/spammers.

I bet the biggest issue is moving the server without having to take it down for a day or two so that they could fly the server itself to the new data center. But why tell people they messed up in the first place and admit wrong doing?

Just as a side note to this, There is lag and there is ability lag, latency does not always effect ability lag.

I have removed the cache which the addon, ESOHead creates (the file was 30~Mb) and I have noticed that a good number of ability lag things (Opening doors, zone loading, picking up items etc) has decreased.

Always worth a try. Granted this will not fix normal latency.

No addons here to remove sadly.

Just had a great one, fighting some General in RM and I was full hgealth one second, stone dead the next... I was so shocked I just sat there for a moment when, she suddenly dropped dead herself and I got a success message... then had to go and revive to run back and get the follow up.

I think it is worse since patch 6.

This, they have become accustomed to a sub par experience and think its "ok", which it is not.

Latency is indeed horrible from Europe (Netherlands in my case) to the US at times. On top of that indeed you will get additional action lag, which sometimes makes it so nothing will happen at all when you hit your keys in a fight.

As of the latest 1.0.6 patch I have also noticed that beside all of that also my sound is lagging at times or will entirely drop. The gameplay sounds will play only after a second or so after I use an ability, or the game goes mute all together for a couple of seconds.

It's very frustrating to be playing like this, but luckily haven't had issues so severe that it got me killed in fights. What did get me killed in fight though is disconnects while I'm in the middle of the fight.

I know that feel. 10 years playing from South America in NA servers, all kind of games without any lag. In ESO, Cyrodiil in some days is impossible to play, in the other days, during massive battles, the delay in actions aka lag is soooo annoying that PvP is getting pretty boring. Planetside 2, for example, has the same 3-alliances / massive battles system, and I've never lagged. (not talking about FPS, but this is another sad thing, as even in a med/high-end pc FPS drops like crazy).

Not sure about you but even here in the us Im not getting 13 ms. Youd have to live next door to the server for that.

if 200+'constant ping during prime time and lag spikes are good, ZOS are geniuses at programming and decision making. Probably will unsub this month the game is pretty much unplayable, when i hit veteran levels most of the times i died cause lag than mobs to strong.
For example i dont have any lag in GW 2 on EU servers , even in *** EA Mass effect 3 servers (located in NY) i had 60-80 ping during prime times , but this skill lag, weapon switch lag and so kills the game the most for me.

What lag? I actually do feel sorry for you guys, played many MMOs that had lag issues and it sucks badly. I'm an EU based player, I tend to normally play in what would be considered peak hours. My broadband isn't the greatest either (no fibre optic near me) so Im stuck with an average of 1.7Mb/s - 1.8Mb/s
Apart from the odd spike ( and they have been few) I have not experienced an lag issues.
Some of the players in my guild complain about lag often and it affects any group stuff we do.
Hopefully Zeni will sort it out soon.

With that Internet connection is merely imposible you have yet experienced the opposite, so Id say you are just made to it.

I played Lineage2 back when there was no EU servers at release (EU decided to join Kain, wich was NA based) and the lag was horrible for EU players. Many people new to mmorpgs would say it was not that bad, but as soon as the EU servers came out and they got in, most of them moved as everyother did.

Its like telling people with 200Mbps connections that all is good with Mega because you can download to your bandwith limit (wich results to be 1/100 theirs).

Actually its a huge difference were the server is. Now both EU and US server is in US witch means that EU has the Lagg server. the ping gets worse the longer away you are. its kinda common knowledge

what i don't get is why they do not fix a EU server ASAP in EU.

They're moving the data to a physical server in europe. Those in europe playing on the european servers will be connecting to this (when it come) european server so yes, it is a physical move.
