A Plea for help

I started playing ESO with several friends. Since then they have quit the game. The reason? Difficulty. I can understand making the game a challenge but there are a few aspects of the game that are driving away players including all my friends that started the game with me. They are now looking to other MMO's.

First is the difficulty of bosses in solo dungeons. I'm not asking to have their difficulty lowered necessarily but if someone is having trouble beating one, they should be able to request help from friends to work through a dungeon they are having trouble with. While I love this game, it seems to drive more people to solo than to group. Forcing players to beat a dungeon that is frustrating them enough to leave and go play something more enjoyable, a grouping tool that is hard to find and difficult to use, and many other ways.

The other aspect is malleability of the keys,. I have several friends used to the old school setups for MMO's and found the dynamic targeting and only 5 hotbar keys exceptionally challenging.

Let me say once more I'm still here and I love the game, but I consider cancelling more and more each day as more of my friends cancel their subscriptions too. I highly doubt I'm the only person that has been experiencing this harsh attrition since the game started and I know the game has some growing pains to go through, but please take these issues under advisement and consider the possibilities. Flame all you want about just dealing with it and learning a new system but there's a difficulty wall where people will just get tired of dying over and over and over again and finally just walk away because the game is for having fun, to enjoy yourself, not to get home and start another job.. Thank you for your time and I appreciate your efforts to make a high quality, beautiful game, just keep it evolving into something better :)

So, your friends, who are used to tab target and standing in one spot during fights, maybe strafing left or right depending on the fire radius, quit because they didn't want to learn how to kite and block and dodge. Gotcha. This is definitely Zenimax's fault. Let's riot.

quite funny, I actually posted the opposite thread yesterday.

Coming from Age of Conan, im used to dealing with difficult bosses, and I love it, its what keeps me playing mmo games, if bosses just were run over, I would do something else. I like, no scratch that I love a challenge and if I die, I get more motivated to either level up more and/or do it again.

Manimarco I died like 30 times before beating him, and wow what a YES feeling this was.

Had read a couple of threads later on about Molag Bal being to hard, so I went in there with all I had 15 mins after I had him laying beneath my feet drowning in his own blood, felt amazed about the fight and the chaos it brought with it.

The last major boss I took on before getting the rivenspine quest, I was surprised about the difficulty about it, and loved every second/minut of the fight, took about 20 mins before I could cheer for victory

My best advice for you is, learn your race, get used to weapon swapping so you havve not only 5 normal skills and 1 ultimate but actually 10 normal skills and 2 ultimates to chose from.

Im currently going restro/destruc staff, using them for massive damage, mag regan, self healling, knockback, and aoe.

I wont had access to all this if I restrain myself to only one weapon.

My quick weapon swap button is on my mouse for easier access

    Game is too easy.

Keyboarding it, however, is challenging because it's designed for consoles. So it's harder to hit all of your hotkeys. As opposed to PC exclusive MMO's where you can mouse-click your UI icons, or anything else on screen.

A better gaming mouse, with the extra buttons would help. If you decide to pursue this game any further.
