I was playing with a friend, so I know exactly what happened. We were doing Haj uxith. I sided with the fighters, he sided with the mages. I didnt receive the light, but he did.

So yeah, I can never complete that achievement now. Don't side with the fighters.

Same problem I'm on 4 lights. Didn't even know why since I finished every quest in Coldharbour.

Check to make sure you have done the laboratory in the south east. The quest giver doesn't show up unless you follow the silly little light that randomly appears when you get near by. That's the 5th light!

yeah the quest doesnt give any kind of warning that you wont get the light if you let the tree live. silly design decision

I have every coldharbor quest finished. I'm willing to bet every single person who is at 4/5 and has all the quests done chose to side with the fighters at haj uxith.

I will back up the OP's post. I was at 4/5 before starting the quest at haj uxith. I had been keeping up with the forums regarding this bugged achievement, so I made sure to choose the mages. In addition, when I was given the opportunity to intimidate the fighter's guild rep after making my decision, I chose NOT to intimidate, and went on to beat their champion (pretty easy fight). I wasn't sure at the time if choosing to intimidate him would somehow skip my chance at the 5th light, which is why I decided to play it "normal." After beating the champion, and destroying the crystal, I completed the quest, and got the 5/5 achievement.

I'm not posting to brag...I'm posting to confirm to anyone working toward this achievement that, during the haj uxith questline, if you side with the mages, skip the intimidate option, and finish the questline, it will reward you with a light. I do not know if the light is rewarded if you opt to intimidate (it probably will), but if you want this achievement and don't want to risk losing it permanently, go ahead and play it safe and beat the fighter guild's champion. I'm a completionist by nature, and I did not want to risk losing the opportunity for this achievement permanently, and I could not find any additional information other than "choose the mage side seems to give you a light." I'm telling you now, as of May 1st, choosing the mage side and beating the fighter's guild champion in the process DOES give you a light. Hopefully the mage-only-light-reward ends up being a bug, and anyone who chose the fighter's side will eventually be credited the light, because there was definitely no way to tell ahead of time you would lose the achievement by making a not-necessarily-bad choice.

yeah that's what really pissed me off. I actually thought it was the better choice to let the tree live because I would soon be killing molag bal anyways, so the tree just had to endure it's suffering a little longer then it would be saved... then it turned out to make me the bad guy. I guess they think keeping the tree alive long enough to save it is more evil than assisted tree suicide lol
