Lag on EU server, keyboard reset, and being kicked off the server...

Tonight I was kicked off the EU server just minutes after logging in (an error has occurred. Wait a few minutes before retrying.), logging back in I saw the people around me vanish.
So managed to do part of a couple of quests, then turned my attention to the latest Fighters Guild quest, Will of the Council. Bad idea. After going through the portal to the Earth Forge, it took several minutes before I could interact with Merric. But each time I tried to click a next line, it wouldn't react, or after minutes of waiting, it would go through several parts of conversation in high speed.
Then I couldn't click anymore and I was kicked off the server again. (an error has occurred. Wait a few minutes before retrying.) Waited some minutes, retried. Logged in and found myself staring at a UI error. Clicked that away, and sat for several minutes through the ssssllloooowwww conversation again, as again I could not progress. I wanted a greatsword, and was only allowed that after I had to click Goodbye (the only thing that worked) and restarting the conversation from the beginning. Having chosen the greatsword, it then took more minutes to get past the end of that conversation. I never saw it, I was waiting for it and poof, Merric gone, a deadric portal open, and a greatsword waiting for me on the anvil.
So I got the sword and went through the portal to the next room. Getting the sword was problematic already, but putting it into my quick buttons proved almost impossible. After many tries, it went. Then I tried to close my inventory screen, only to notice that at some time my keyboard settings had reset again.
I hate having the close button on Alt, so I changed that to Tab right from the beginning. Tab for all closing, Alt for sprint, Shift for roll, F10 for screen shots. All had reset to default. That happens every two weeks, it seems, on those evenings that I'm unceremoniously dropped off the server.
Anyway, so reset all that, went through the portal and found that I couldn't wield the sword without severe lag. Press mouse, and, wait for it, a little longer, wait, wait, swing! With two NPCs at your side not fighting much, that's not going to help much. Then I found that the interact button 'E' would totally not work anymore, I couldn't talk to anyone, I couldn't browse bookcases, couldn't loot the daedra, they disappeared before I could try again to loot them ('R' didn't work either).
And so I gave up. Apparently the game doesn't want me logged in tonight, so I'll go spend the rest of the evening on the couch watching some bad Asylum or Syfy movie. That's probably better time spent than fuming at a server.
I have a 150Mbit/15Mbit connection, that according to Speedtest is almost reached (147.8/14.6), so I shouldn't have to sit through these extreme slow downs, if all is well. It felt like using a 56k connection again.

greylox✭✭✭✭✭I had the same the other night, then I allowed eso on my firewall and it has got a lot better, only had one instance of getting kicked and relogging a few times, but normally that would happen a lot more. No endless load screens either. Uk here, 60 Mbit connection...I know it's not my internet because I watch tv through it at the same time flawlessly and run speed tests regularly.Edited by greylox on April 25, 2014 11:34PMPC EU

The thing though is, that Eso.exe doesn't need firewall access. Perhaps that Bethesda.net_Launcher.exe does, but the kicker that uses the net when in the game is AwesomiumProcess.exe ("%drive%:\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online - EU server\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\client\AwesomiumProcess.exe".)
I have had AwesomiumProcess.exe allowed through my firewall since just after Launch day. In these cases it matters nothing.
But hey, Ice Spiders was 'fun'.

b101uk✭✭✭I had an episode yesterday (~8pm UK time [7pm GMT] – EU server) of the keyboard alternating between custom keys bindings and default keys bindings then back to custom key bindings on its own, also having to log out because of unresponsiveness and multiple UI errors.
The last time I had a UI error was 2 or 3 betas before launch, and I have not experienced key bindings changing themselves en masse back and forth between custom/default/custom before, likewise the unresponsiveness was quite odd too.

Mauzi✭✭For me, the EU server has been a mess last night, unstable and not responsive, oftentimes not even allowing to use skills. And it's getting worse and worse recently at US peak times, close to being unplayable.0
