Is the BETA finished yet ?

athanasios
With all the bugs and problems I've encountered, I'm feeling like I'm still playing the BETA version of the game. Between losing money and slots from bank and getting stuck at quests now and then, I'm starting to feel really disappointed with ESO.
I really like this game and been a huge ES fan, but the issues people encounter are really starting to pile up.
And before "experienced" MMO players start, I clarify that I do NOT care if WoW or some other MMO had similar (or more) problems at the start, because -after all- this is not a free game and we all payed good money for it.
So, I'm thinking of letting go for 1-2 months, see if problems are solved and issues are smoothed and then re-new my subscription.

Well, you kind of agree with my last remark by saying that " when is a product most stable... after the 1st Service Pack is released (or in the case of an MMO after the first major patch.. which we've not had yet). " . I'll just have to wait for a couple of months. Too bad I haven't thought of this when I pre-ordered the game ! Oh well..

Haha yeah, if you can't stand the game in its current form then by all means come back in 2-3 months. Only fear I have is the game will be completely different by then.

Shame you had to pay for the game to play beta :)

Given the high number of bugs that have been fixed in the last few weeks, I'd say Zeni is doing pretty good. Think back to early access time where hardly anyone could login, numerous quest were broken and not in the logout and log back in way. Banks were disappearing, voice test in char creation was broke, players were getting swapped into other players accounts, the list goes on and on. The whole time they are fixing all these bugs, they're already producing new content for the V10 players QQing about how there's not enough to do.

Sure there's problems that still need to be addressed still, but I'd say we've come a long way from beta in such a short time.
And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. All that is left, is whispers of the adventures they had.

Yes the beta finished a while ago, although if you're asking I fear you may have missed the games launch, it's been a little buggy but four weeks in and there have been a lot of fixes so things run more smoothly.

If you're not happy with the state of the game right now, don't sub and come back in three months. I look forward to your threads complaining that everyone is doing end-game content and you can't party or compete in PVP when you do.

I'm afraid some of you are missing my point and are taking the "beta" part literally.
My problem is that when I pay money, as a customer I have the right to a finished product.
For some of you, it's ok, since you must be under 20 and your dad is probably paying for your subscription. NOT the case for me.
I can see that Zenimax is trying, but the number of problems is overwhelming. THAT is the point here.
Finally, repeating myself, I find the game wonderful in many aspects but un-finished as a whole product.

Why you never buy new gaming systems as soon as they are launched or buy new phones. You run the high risk of issues arising whether they be heat sink issues, hard drive defects, or call signal degradation due to hand placement. Waiting six months is actually recommended on things that cannot be patched or fixed within hours of deployment.

I didn't particularly feel a need to comment on this thread until I read this. You say you are an "adult" who "pays for his own subscription", yet the tone of this post was rank with immaturity. Accusing others of being "children" just because their opinion differs from yours doesn't do you credit; it just makes you look foolish.

It's natural for games to be released "unfinished" these days. Just look around. So many companies are charging through the roof for "early access" and "open beta" play. It's considered normal nowadays. As for your rights as a customer - you don't have that many. The TOS makes sure to cover that implicitly. Since you're an adult, I would hope you read it before hopping into the game and opening your wallet.

If you feel that you should un-sub for a few months, go ahead and save yourself (and by the looks of things, this forum) some headache and a few bucks. Maybe when you return, the state of the game will be more pleasing for you.

    "Surprise me. Say something intelligent."

Wonder why Zeni didnt do a full on open beta a few weeks out from launch instead of the hit and miss weekends... Would think even more bugs and server issues could have been ironed out pre -release had they done so.

Like most things software I'm pretty sure money had a lot to due with it and that is not a dig at the devs... state of the industry I'm afraid.
