Excessive messaging bug

I keep getting dropped from the server for 'excessive messaging (i.e. spamming)'

This is happening at odd moments, particularly if I'm using the horse and sprinting.
Obviously, I'm not even using the chat system at the time.

It seems to be associated with repeated commands into the system, several 'sprint' commands in a row appear to trigger it most reliably.

    This is one of the attempts at bot protection, I believe.

    I put in a couple of bug reports through the game (after logging back in) - but I'll do that too.

    I wouldn't use /bug - it goes to developers, but they don't appear to actually respond to them.

    Do you have any addons installed by the way? Because they communicate to server via API, it's possible one of them is flooding the server.

    Hmmmm - I do have FTC on - but I would have thought it was mostly inactive out of combat.
    - It's an easy test though - I'm fairly confident I can replicate this bug reliably.

    I'm not worried about fixing it for myself - I'm guessing it's probably system wide - just thought I'd ask if anyone else had seen it.

    EDIT - just checked - not the addon and definitely triggered by holding down the sprint key while on horseback.

    FTC is heavy API usage. Try disabling and retesting and let us know.

    Hmmm, interesting. If everybody was getting that the forum would be flooded.

    Edit: have you upgraded horse stamina and/or speed?

    I've got the Palomino, been upgrading for speed for about 10 days.
    I'm curious too that there hasn't been a flood of complaints - I expected it so didn't worry about it for a couple of days.

    What speed level is it?

    They're trying to clamp down on bots, and one of the things bots are doing is sending lots of packets to megaserver so they move very, very quickly (you might have seen it in game, where they appear to teleport around). I'm pondering if your horse is basically going fast enough that the server thinks it is a bot, and disconnects you.

    I've seen reports of this anti-something mechanic (no idea what it's supposed to do, I can't see any obvious 'bot' angle TBH) catching spamming 'E' to open a door or something similar, again nothing at all to do with chat.

    They're likely pos-hacking rather than spamming movement controls.

    It's currently 34% speed and 10 stamina. Not excessive.

    I wonder if this is associated with the 'never-ending sprint bug' on horses.

    EDIT : Anyone else able to duplicate it?
