Hello guys,

Dunno whats taking them so long to |FIX a login server.. It Seems more like a normal weekly maintenance of 4-6 hours. This is the 3th Maintenance this week for ESO. So i hope they Fix DUP bug, ban all those Dup players, fix along the way the bugged quests and random crashes because should considered as doable for ESO after a 3th maintenance in 1 week and reports since BETA about those issues.

So I am very confident that the ESO team READS forums and is on top of those Issues to fix them, soon i hope....

Lets take 1min and pray for those poor DEV souls because they are working soooo damn HARD to FIX all those issues.

PS: played since BETA i am aware whats going on so no BS here. Only being Real !

Do you know if its a hardware problem? Those usually take awhile. Its not like someone just has to switch the power on again. Its not like its ONE Server they have to fix, or do you think that one server handles a few tens of thousands of logins?

We don't know exactly what it was, add to that that its a weekend between holidays (or isn't it in na as well?) so they won't have a full shift probably.

no actually i have played several MMO's in the last 10 years. And those issues in this game are kinda bad bad. 1 Thing says enough the DUP bug my friend was reported in the BETA, then ESO comes with a official report at the 17th saying that they encountered the BUG at the 17th the first time and will FIX it. So plz i do understand launch issues this is just BS from them and says enough about here approach fixing issues AS U CAN TELL..

I am just saying whats the REAL DEAL here. Love the game ect but not too long as many others, 2months deadline hope they get it right should be enough time.

No, and that's the problem. We don't know anything whatsoever because no ZeniMax Community Person deign to inform of anything in such lines. They just state "It's down now, have patience" and nothing more. Surprising that people get annoyed? I think not. And what happens if you put a hundred annoyed people in a room with no information? Will they discuss and find a solution to world hunger? Or will they find some pitchforks and torches and incite a riot? Make your guess here: ______________

I've managed IT for sony pictures studio mobile entertainment for 9 years, the main platform had 3000 connections per second and 16 million active subscribers hosted on 4 IIS servers, 2 DB servers (of which only one was active) and 2 application server (round robin). Worked just fine, tho we'r talking about servers well over a 100k each.

At the end, you cant compare it but i wonder why invest in some unknown company with your prime product while you could have gone with google or microsoft who both have a 50k+ server park intended for these purposes

Never seen maintenances for a several hours in the prime-time in, for example, GW2!
But here we have THIRD per week prime-time maintenance for 3+ hours!

And not any compensations! Do they give us +3 subscribed days? NOT!
God, I even didn't see any excuses and apologies for players after any of this maintenance.

Community managment of ZO are bad.

To be honest, i too feel this is unacceptable, server down for logging issues in prime time?

And please stop compairing to WoW' launch... that was over a decade ago

    * Hardware has improved!
    * Experience in launching MMO's should have improved! (what is this now? the 25th big MMO launch?)

3rd Maintenance at prime time, often feel like a second rate subscriber due to where we live - this is getting beyond a joke. Its understandable if there are Exploits that are required to take game down for, but fixes should not be done whenever you feel like it - they are not exactly game breaking to - Not being able to log on and play...now that is.

And is it too much to ask for an ETA, and not just 'DOWN' its common courtesy.

LOGIN ISSUES not logging issues. People couldnt change zone anymore and had to restart but login wasnt possible anymore. THAT is the reason why they decided to do another maintainence!!!

I totally agree with u on this, the technology has improved so much more from 2004 and this should be unacceptable in 2014 especially if u have BEAT'S that are there for fixing issues so that a Game can have good launch not perfect but acceptable launch. Sadly ESO is far away from this.

    Agree.

    Apparently you weren't trying to:
    - use a wayshrine.
    - use a door into a building or to another zone.
    - get into or out of a dungeon.
    - use your keyboard moves in a fight.
    - try to make and save a new character.
    - log in to the game.

And yep, even while everything may have been hunky dory while walking in the world, how do you know for sure that when there's the aforementioned problems for loads of people, that your own game play history was being recorded? For all you know, all of what you did while we were having our problems, was never saved and when you log back in in ~30 minutes you'll find yourself at a point an hour prior to where you were unceremoniously dumped out of the game. All due to the server already having problems.

i am pretty sure i have never played an mmo that did not experience some unforseen hurdle in the 1st month(s).

eq1 and 2 both went down numerous times after launch and after a few of the bigger patches. i never played it but i read alot of threads about an epic downtime at blizzard with (i wont even say the name, i dislike it that much!) after (im trying to recall!) the 1st expansion (could be wrong about that: like i said i never was a fan). swtor was plagued with invisible walls, and latency issues on the fleets that was soo bad that you could input commands/text, go make coffee and come back in time to see the result. lotro had quite a few unscheduled server downtimes.

what did those companies do about it? usually they just got everything up and running as fast as they could so they didn't have to beat back a horde of angry nerds.

a few of the best realized how far an apology and a silly gift basket could go. i still receive my token apology gift every time i make a new hobbit in middle earth and it still brings a smile to my face! (okay the lotro gift was pretty damned cool to a RP junkie like myself ;))

whats my point? i guess im just trying to say *** happens to the best of us. ZOS is no exception. the benchmark should be not 'did they have *** happen?' but 'how did they cope with the *** that happened?' also, the same benchmark can and should apply to us as community members. are we the type of community that submits to mob hysteria and rabble-rousing or do we shrug it off and ask what we can do to help?

The thing about coding is guys, even if it meant to work, it sometimes don't (most of the time it don't) and the coding you expect not to work sometimes works really well.

Coding isn't as easy as you think, takes alot of effort and one code out of line can ruin something, also there is coding/scripting that can work reaaaaly well but breaks another code/script that was working fine before, also certain actions can break a code/script in-game.

Coding is all about finding the issue, finding out how the issue was created, understanding the issue, then fixing it, you could say: "but that what beta is for!" sorry to break it to you guys but yes beta is there for testing but reguardless no game is ever finished.

Also there is no perfect game out ther,e there will never will be, take a look at reallife, there is no "perfect" there, everyone has there fualts and issues, same does coding/scripting/mmo's.

Get a grip, there taking down servers for your benfit, i would rather them take down the servers for a few hours over people not being able to login/change zones, if they didn't do maintance to fix this issue you would all be crying for them to fix it.

We all know what it means to do regular maintenance, the gripe people have is that we are being treated like mushrooms ie. left in the dark and feed $hit.

People understand the game is new and these things happen but really Zeni can smooth the road with regular updates on the status of it, i am sure they can tell the coffee pleb to drop us a line and inform us what the status and ETA is or expected is.

Maybe they would compensate us with a little pet toilet being flushed that can follow us around tamriel and remind us of the cr@ppy times we had back in the day...i dont care but it would be nice to know the subscriber is valued...we did pay for a working game not a "be patient we are working on it" every 2d day, my payment went down immediately for the game not 3 weeks after I played it...

The problem was that your solution didn't work anymore. ALT+F4 means to kill the running program, means you're logged out of the game. So then you restart the game launcher, get to the log in page, put your credentials and password in, to then find that you cannot log back in anymore. So not solved, very easy, etc.
