Charged 3 times for ESO totaling $240, please help.

My debit card account was charged 3 separate times after I confirmed ONLY a single purchase of ESO. I understand mistakes but when its coming up on Easter weekend and people need to travel, that money becomes extremely important. Please fix this issue as soon as possible. I need my money.

Well I did that last night but still havent gotten a call or anything. Im wondering if I need to call my bank and dispute these charges.

Yep.

You need to call someone. Go to the support tab and you'll find the way to call them.

You weren't actually charged (assuming any of them went through). This is how credit cards work online. You attempt a purchase, this causes your bank to put an authorization hold for the amount. Then the bank has 72 hours (3 business days) to settle with the merchant and provide them the funds. Banks are not in any hurry to do this - to maximize profit they will hold onto your money as long as they can.

If you attempt multiple times to buy something (anywhere, not just from Zenimax), you can end up with multiple authorization holds. And the banks have 3 business days to remove them. You can SOMETIMES get a bank to remove them early if you ask nicely (especially if it was a purchase that you know failed), but they are not legally required to.

This can happen ANYWHERE you shop online with a card. It can happen at Zenimax, Amazon, Newegg, K-Mart, wherever you happen to shop. There is a gas station near a place I used to work that would put a $75 authorization hold on your card if you used their pay at the pump system. 3 business days later, the $75 hold would disappear and be replaced by the amount of the purchase.

Sorry but everything you just said is crap.

Here are the facts 99.9% of sellers that require authorisation checks (here is the key part) ONLY TAKE £0.01/$0.01. They do not take the full amount. I have had 1 penny held many times in the past but never have I had a hold on the full amount I think quite frankly it is outrageous.

They key problem and the reason there are quite literally thousands and thousands of complaints about this is because they take the full amount which is obsoletely unnecessary.

Anyway to the OP it does really suck, but all you can do is call them asap.

Same thing has happened to me, emailed support with no word back, call back wouldnt let me even submit my problem because "my phone number is blocked or invalid" and have been on hold for over an hour now.
