Alternate Download Options, maybe?

So, I had a TON of trouble downloading the game initially. I would always get error code 102 telling me to contact customer support about the problem, of whom only one person out of the entire support staff actually tried to help fix the problem.
I think part of the problem might be that the file was just too big for my computer to handle all at once. I seriously lost a LOT of sleep babysitting the download to make sure it didn't crash overnight.
And now with these last two patches, I've been running into the EXACT same problem. So I was wondering if there might be a way that you could present an option to download the patches and things in little chunks? I know it would be slower and more annoying, but that's why I'm asking for the option, because for me it would be faster than repeatedly starting up the launcher with occasionally restarting my computer and praying that the download will go through.
