Game Time Suggestion

I see a lot of people complaining about server downtime, and I understand the importance of doing maintenance and patches and whatnot, but...
would it be realistic to suggest that anytime a server goes down they don't charge us our time that we are unable to use? Or at least credit us back 1-2 days per month for some of the downtime? Thoughts anyone?

No, maintenance is a normal part of MMO life, I don't think we should expect to be compensated for it especially this early in a game's life. I think most mmo vets understand the growing pains of a new game launch. I expect once the bulk of the initial population reaches max level most of the bugs should have been found and ironed out. As long as things calm down at that point I can't really justify demanding compensation, unless the downtime were significant and unexpected.

I think most people are more upset about the timing of the maintenance than the fact that it's happening. A lot of pretty good arguments here:

I don't think you'll get anywhere asking this, but yeah...I have 4 days a month I can play as much as I'd like, and that's Friday. But now, I suppose if in a perfect maintenance world I now have 4 half days. Unless it stays under maint. until early evening like last tuesday...then Im just wasting $15.

Sure I can play a little here and there, but Fridays are my day to play. Sigh..
