It will make you reinstall the whole game. More down time for me since I also emptied my recycle bin. :'(

Devs if you want to clarify here for the rest of the people which of the 4 is appropriate to delete, I am sure that would be appreciated.

How about instead of simply deleting them you back up your files? That's computing 101, any time you make a change make a backup just in case you damage your file.

Maybe, but its important and specific to the erroneous instructions to delete ALL .version files.

So help keep it up until its clearly corrected and sticky by devs, dont need hoards of angry after school/work folks making the error.

Yup thats a good one.

My information came from a post from Jessica Folsum that said NOTHING about restoring the deleted files. Yes, I went back and double checked to see if I was wrong. Not all of us program computers. So accurate info from the get go is the best.

I hope this will at lest help folks in my situation realize it instead of losing several more hours

How about they tell people that instead of saying to just delete them. Every other game launcher Ive used lets you do a file check which restores the deleted files. This is the only one Ive seen that makes you do a new install if you delete 3 files.

There shouldnt be a risk of deleting files when you have a game launcher. that is the whole point of a game launcher; to manage the game files.
