Error 209 - New and due to server maintenance

I just tried to start up the game client now that the maintenance period has concluded and the servers have been announced as available. I was waiting for my game client to finish updating. At 99% ERROR 209 keeps coming up and stating that it can not determine the current version number and will have a repair option pop up where the play button is located. When you select the repair option it starts patching all over again and stops again at 99% with another ERROR 209.

Yeah, I got the same problem, it says that you need to re-install the launcher, I REALLY hope I don't have to do that though, since it takes days.

Judging by the number of threads created after I did a search for "Error 209" and all dated very, VERY recently. I can assure you, we're not the only ones experiencing this issue.

Same issue for me after the launcher installed the patch just now.

Not a resolution for the issue, but just so you guys know, you can still get into the game if you go to the install directory and run eso.exe as it seems the only problem is the launcher is not able to read the game version, the game seems to have updated correctly for me at least though.

EDIT: Forgot to say, ran the repair twice, restarted the launcher etc, same thing each time.

Had the problem, ran the diagnostic, did the repair and it worked.

I have the same issue, ran the repair feature twice and still no go, tried the work round and that didn't work either.

Good job this is still the game included free time because i would not be happy if i was paying money and this is the outcome of a server downtime and patch.

I am having the same issue as well, ran repairs three times with no luck, ran the game consultant tool, etc. Count me in on this problem

Same problem, repairing does not work. ended up redownloading the game but lucky for me speed was 15mb/s consistent. Installing the game now as I am posting this.

EDIT: lol the irony, after redownloading all of the 22gb worth of files, same error timing out at "requesting login..." ... -_- this is getting silly.

I kept running diagnostic and repair until it worked.

Fixed it. After getting this error, I repaired it, didn't work, then I ran the consultant tool, repaired the client again, and now I can play.

Same problem, ran repair and its saying unable to determine current version, and tells me to run tool and contact customer support. running second repair after restarting allowed the client to start normally.

No need to repair. There must be login issues or server is having problems. Is anyone actually in-game at this time?

I just closed the launcher a couple times and re-opened it, problem may be intermittent. No repair done. I am now able to login.

It never tried to download a patch on my end even after checking for updates. It allows me to go to the login screen but it keeps giving me login timeout or some other error 102.
