Zenimax - Make this or something like it an offical post re: bank issues

Why not try something like this and temporarily solve the problem? Obviously this is my own rendition and NOT anything I have heard from anyone in charge, but wouldn't this level of honesty and action be refreshing and build some confidence?

I could be wrong but this would settle me for the moment...

The bank slot issue is causing us issues we did not foresee and we take it seriously but do not have a fix at this time. As a result we are disabling the ability to expand bank vaults until we fix it and at that time will compensate all players with 20 additional bank slots. In the meantime we felt it was better to not set people up for failure by allowing them to waste their gold on something that is broken. We do not have a timetable on this fix but we are aggressively pursuing a solution and will keep everyone posted.

I said earlier they really need to just disable bank upgrades until the problem is solved. Leaving it accessible just creates more tickets, more frustrated players, and more wasted time by CS having to deal with the same issue. Out of all the bugs in this game this one seems manageable. It's beyond me why they are not doing this for damage control.

totally agree, unless they need the problem to keep happening so they can identify it. Otherwise makes no sense to me either... minimize the damage.

I also agree here. I am not yet convinced it will be possible to restore everything that is lost. Likely some compensation will come for those who have lost items, money or even entire characters but so far it has not been on par with what was lost.

I am surprised that not some preventive measures have been taken to reduce the damage. So even though I know many are frustrated with the downtime today because they want to play, I am at the point when I gladly accept as many patches at it takes to not have to worry about losing major progress.

When I talked to a support guy on the phone, they said they couldn't see that my mount was deleted, and also that I had deleted thousands of items, I wouldn't hold my breath for everything to be restored, he also could not see the purple sword I had lost.

My impression so far when reading threads about people losing items, money or even characters is that it seems very difficult to fully restore what was lost. That is why I am surprised that no damage control is in place to minimize further losses.

I am eager to read the new patch notes which should hopefully be posted soon.
