Maintenance for the week of March 9:
• [IN PROGRESS] ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – March 11, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 1:00PM EDT (17:00 UTC)

I don't normally complain about maintenance

... but seriously guys, 5 hours this morning, and then now 3 hours again (and who knows how much longer) in the evening? This is getting a bit out of hand. At least tell us when it will be back. Late afternoon is a bit of a BS, because it's 7pm in the UK, 8pm in Europe. That is well evening.

Please at least communicate. So that people can plan around maintenance.

When the say "later afternoon" they mean it in EDT, not GMT.
So in European standards: the maintenance will be done during the late evening.

If they're OK to take my £££ and convert them into $$$

Then the least they can do is announce their downtimes in CET ...

atleast give us info on when we expect the servers to be up IN FREAKING EU TIME! i dont live in america and i dont want to waste my time going on google and calculate what EDT means!
  • Timowadeb16_ESO
I think they are doing an awesome job fixing these things, yet I do agree that a little more effort on the ETA of start and end of maintenance would be much appreciated.

If for some reason, you cannot give an end time. Like maybe so that you are not under so much pressure perhaps, then please. Providing an exaggerated estimate would be something :) - It may even fool some into being especially pleased that you made the maintenance way ahead of schedule

Elder Scrolls Online? Maintenance Online is a more fitting name for this game.

Well, obviously we all bought into a game with one of the worst quality assurance teams in the industry. Whenever there is a planned patch, the servers go down for an emergency downtime shortly after because every patch they roll out seems to introduce a new game breaking bug.

they will get the hang of it and listen to requests im sure :) they have listened so far almost too well I think :)

I really think they should consider removing the "Online" part from the game's title. Certainly until the game can actually get through a single day without hours and hours of maintenance, constant crashes or endless loading screens.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

So... Can anyone tell me where I look to see updates on the maintenance period and etas on the availability of the server like you get with other MMOs? I can't seem to see any information other than 'it's down and we have no idea when you can have it back'? I'm sure it's here somewhere, I just can't find it...

I would think that if this goes on for very much longer, Todd Howard will force them to remove the part before 'Online' instead.

I dont care that they do maintenance. It actually good that they do, but it seems like they schedule it as to not inconvenience the employees at ZOS rather than not inconveniencing their customers.

As someone who has worked server maintenance for a large company, we usually did our maintenance at 2-3AM EDT/EST as to affect as little people as possible. ZOS should do the same.

Unfortunately, this would screw over the night owls and Aussies, but speaking in terms of demographics, it is when the least amount of people would be affected. It's simply a numbers game.

Why does this game not use GMT as it's timeframe? The whole world uses GMT as a time reference, even if you do not realise it, why are you any different? You may well be a US company but the bulk of your player-base must be outside the US when you factor in Europe and Asia?

According to my ESO client, it's been over 6 hours now being unable to login, that is, the entire morning in north america. And now it's not supposed to be up until early evening? :|

    So, potentially a 12 hour, completely-offline, maintenance?
That's... well, given some current MMO's patch live, without taking the servers down at all, ESO is surprising in this regard.

I am ok with this thread why becuase they have told us nothing hourly updates or or even every two hours giving specifics on what is wrong would be nice, or even the patch notes. Instead silence

And yet we will all be back in game when it comes back up again. We keep paying these companies and in a way we're saying, "yeah we hate down time, but go ahead we're really lion's with no teeth". Because we NEVER do anything about it. All they care about, and listen to me bobby, is themselves. I know, I know that's a shock right? Give them your money and they never look at you again.
Promises, promises, promises. They have falsified the truth, stretched the truth, and bald faced lied about the truth.
These guys are terrible at online gaming. They don't even know about throwing the dogs a bone. Like keeping people informed often...You know, customer pleasing stuff? Yeah, its business 101. Keep making single player, OFF line games. You tried it, and its flopping. Take the money and make off line games.
    Truth? It's a person..
Truth? It will set you free.

Some times long Maintenance is necessary. The question I have is are we going to get game credit for the time the servers are unavailable?
