"The maintenance for the North American megaserver is taking a little longer than anticipated, and we expect the server to come back online no later than early this evening. We'll let you know when we have any updates. Thanks!"
"No later than early this evening."
Listen can you give us an hour like 4pm for example...if 4pm gets close and you aren't done then extend it, but it at least gives us a timeline to check back for updates.
Every message you do, every announcement is so darn vague it is annoying.
This is a MMO not a political campaign.

But come on, if they spend a bunch of time composing a perfectly explanatory, updated precise message for you, that will simply take more time away from fixing the game and getting it back online and will open a whole new line of interrogation for them to have to wade through.
Lighten up, go find something else to do - take a walk, read a book, clean out a closet, wash the car, get some exercise, wash the cat, go do a kind act for an elderly neighbor, put together a donation box of clothes or food and find where to donate, clean the gutters or even compose a letter to the ESO staff and tell them how much you appreciate them getting up and to the office before 5am to get this maintenance done so the we can play TONIGHT.
Think about it - someone (and likely more than one) had to get to the office in Bethesda BEFORE 5am EST to start this maintenance in the first place.
I for one am grateful for the dedication. But maybe that's because I live with a career IT guy and I know they are people, too.
Actually, you do have the right.Annoying brats who think they have a right to control a company because they pay $15/month for access to their game is annoying. You bought the game, not a stock in the company. Get over it or get out. It's not changing.

ESO can take the servers down without having to let us know diddly squat, read the terms of service next time you agree to something.

The subscription fee is payment for 24/7 access the game (literally paying for "game time"). Sure we may not use all the 24 hours in a day, but we're still paying full 100% price for access every hour, every minute and every second. It doesnt matter if they call the current 30 days "free", we still paid for the box that included them and any time lost during this time is lost, period.
If the game servers are down, ZOS are failing to provide a paid for service. That's actually enough grounds for a lawsuit, but whatever. I just want to play the damn game in the middle of primetime. The only way ZOS can get around it is adding the downtime hours to everyones accounts.

ZOS is officially the most silent MMO company in existence when it comes to PR.
Blizzard and Carbine shoot their mouths off, talking about EVERYTHING and throwing in jokes here and there.
ZOS is like the introvert at the party.

Edited to remove the impact of the "5am" statement, as it was changed to 8am, which is less impressive lol.
You're right, it seems the only thing they do well is lurking and editing your posts when deemed against the rules. It makes me wonder what the forum moderators consider good communication. Part of their job must be to keep the player base informed and yet between a lack of communication and vague posts this is not being achieved.
