A few suggestion to get rid of goldspamers

helgekhb16_ESO
1) Make some scripts that autoban goldspammers in zone chat, where you easily and quickly can add their ways around the filters, then we will at least only get 1 message from them and they gone
2) Remove the possibilty to send guildinvites to people that alrdy are in 5 guilds until they no longer are in 5 guilds, that will get rid of stupid guildinvitespamming gold selling guilds (this should stop harrasment from WWW GGATM SELL GOLDI)
3) make a script that autoban the typical mails sent by goldspammers (should take care of G O L D A H)
4) Hire some more people to customer support preferably someone thats knows how to give good service to the community and have some technical knowhow

    1) NO SCRIPTS, ban-bots are causing enough damage already, no ban should be imposed by a script only a human being.

    2) Maybe you're in 5 guilds, I'm not and I suspect many aren't, your suggestion therefore isn't a solution for us. However, the fact this guild exists 24 hours after they started spamming is a clear indictment of ZOS' efforts to eliminate RMT.

    3) see (1).

    1. Have an active GM

    done.

If you think of it, banning gold spammers and botter for 8h a day sounds like a dream job.

    1) Some games actually banned asian IPs from accessing european/US servers, i know gold selling websites that removed those games from their lists. Ofc this means having an Asian mega-server. Just an idea

    2) Maybe some chat restrictions for level 1/3 characters?

    3) Easier report function, so i don't have to fill in a report, have a load time and then receive a confirmation mail.
This is a must because there are already addons that try to address this issue.

I've said this repeatedly. GMs can do more than just throw ban hammers at chat bots, but they can also use special powers (per say) to look into reports of gold seller bots doing the reported nodes and boss camping and act on these.

Most MMOs have them (personally, I don't know any that I've played that doesn't have GMs in game).

As far as me being a GM isn't all it's cracked up to be..:P

I agree with you here, as this would be the best solution in my opinion.

I would say that Zenimax also has employees watching the live game world, but you have to be careful about how this is done and you have to understand what might be limitations.

If a god-like GM interfaces to the game world with anything that looks like a client to the game, then it could be possible for that GM capability to be taken over by hackers. For this reason, a god-like character in the game, milling around some major city, that could select a player or chat and bang the Ban button might be a very bad idea.

However, being actually in the game with a GM character is quite archaic and limited, even if the character has god-like powers. I would hazard a guess to say that it is actually pretty useless, from the perspective of running and monitoring the game.

But then, we also have to realize the challenge here. I don't think people have a good feel for the scale of the game, including myself. When we are in game, we are fooled into thinking that what we see is all that there is to see. Everyone who is in Daggerfall is right there with us and we can chat with them and see what they are saying in Zone. This is not true. I do not know the scale, but there could be dozens, or hundreds, of instances of Daggerfall, each with a separate list of players and a different Zone chat. Each Zone chat could be producing 20-30 postings per minute. The full feed of content from all Daggerfall Zone chats could easily exceed 20-30 postings per second.

The only way that this can be monitored is using software that watches and flags items of interest. There is no way that a human being can monitor and understand Zone chat when all instances of Tamriel could be generating thousands of messages per second.

So, when I say that they have people "in the game", what I mean is that human beings are monitoring the software that is watching the live game, not standing next to your character in the game.

So why are gold spammers still in the game hours later? Humans. That is evidence right there that humans are making the ban decisions, not the computer. If the monitoring software was banning people, and I think this is a HORRIBLE idea, the ban hammer could drop so fast that you would not have time to report them before they were gone.

Imagine how many gold sellers there are in the game. Given that they instance Zone chat, for you to even see one they have to be in the same instance. If there are as many instances as I think there are, there could be hundreds of gold spammers in the game at any given time. Not just a couple. Not a just a handful. A full-on invasion.

If Zenimax is having a human review the ban lists before dropping the hammer, it could take hours to look through all of the bannable people.

At the end here, I do want to remind people that banning is only one of two likely actions taking place. The banning deals with people who are in the game today spamming, something that needs to be done. The other action is coming up with ways to block or hinder them, and this action needs to be more thoughtful and measured and it is not something we are going to see evidence of between patches.

Any system can be hacked. Hackers are getting smarter per seconds of a day. With this said there is only a few solutions to handle the amount of damage these gold sellers are doing.

There is the aspect they are ripping the very fiber of the game up for other players that are griefed by these people selling gold with their bots, spams, and other deeds.

You can have GMs and risk a hack (every company risk a hack if they have any internet connection and this day and age it isn't even a if anymore). You can put the hammer down on the buyers as well as the gold sellers. If you have no buyers, you have no sellers. There are posts in these forums that people know of people by the score buying gold. If this is as it is said, then the gold sellers are swarming even more to this game.

You have to at least get a hold on it, even if you get it down to where it is barely noticeable. Guild Wars 1 (not to be mistaken for 2) did indeed ban buyers by the scores as well as the gold sellers. They did it in such a way that it was amazing to watch. I would have to ask my fiancé the name of the GM but his character would come (look like the grim reaper) and hit multi servers at that ban hammer players by the scores, their characters would fall down dead (as if a mob killed them) and then disappear.

Yes, they banned buyers as well. One of my friends got perm banned for buying gold.

It all comes down to what Zenimax wants for this game, the game is already losing subs for other things, now it is losing subs for this. They have to make a decision. GMs (not just one) would handle a lot of issues, but as far as gold sellers, well ban buyers. No money being made, no gold sellers.

As someone posted in another discussion. The buyers have no fear of buying gold. So they do, this invites even more gold sellers. If the buyer had fear of losing their account (I am sure they aren't just playing to make money but to actually enjoy themselves ---the buyer)...the gold sellers might not make as much and begin to dwindle down.
