Gold sellers

ZOS----How to get rid of goldsellers:

Limit the amount of /zone and /shout posts to 1 per min until you are 15th level. Limit the size of the post to 3 lines.

Let us right click on the name and click goldseller. If that name hits 200, ban it instantly.

Let /ignore be limitless in number.

Limit mailing to 0 unless they are on your friends list, for the first 15 levels.

Let us have a junk mail tab that all mails not from friends or guildmates will go to.

Do this ASAP. Thank you.

Investigation wil always be needed for such an action. Imagine someone hates you and tells his 500 ppl guild "c'mon, lets ban this guy!" Half of the guild clicks the button at your message and you are banned for at least some hours as you try to tell customer support here on the forums how much everything sucks. =)

Too draconian for normal players and no real obstacle to RMT.

Why penalise normal players with what you are suggesting ie zone/shout limits.

The amount of letters in a sentence has already been adjusted by zos in recent patch.

Right click on player name(they have/had same system in neverwinter report said player 25 times they get banned/silenced for 24 hours,it got abused big time.

limiting to players levels doesn't work as there are max level bots

Agree with Ignore being limitless though this would prob cause a strain on the system

Easy way to stop goldsellers ....catch the players who buy from them.

Goldsellers will always be active in the MMO 's the massive influx of bots comes from not having a system in place that prevents the influx in the first place, making it to easy ie nodes always spawning in the same spot over and over again.

How long must it take for companies to wake up to this,it's common knowledge how the goldsellers work, heck there are even video's about it.

Its only been going on for 13 odd years.......and it's no different now than it was back in 2000,what ever happened to progress and learning from other's mistakes ie FFXI,Wow,EQ2 which were I think the first 3 major MMO titles to have issues with Bots, not sure about EQ if that had bot issues but if so that goes back to 1999.

They could at least allow reporting with a single click. As it is you have to go to the report panel, select a category, type a description... All that is unnecessary. Just allow right click-> report message that sends the character name and selected chat message as a report. That should be all they need to identify a gold seller.

Yes, or something along these lines.

ZOS probably wont do anything about this for a while as they probably have more pressing issues which are costing them a lot more money.

If you go to ESOUI you can find mods that actually block gold spam. You can also input your own filters if you notice some getting through. This actually works better than what ZOS was trying to do about it, at least for now.

Just wish it blocked the mass guild invite mods to gold selling guilds. Guess I should find a way to turn off incoming guild invites and it'll be nice and peaceful.

    First, where is the harm?

When have you ever really needed to do a shout or zone speak more than one time a minute? Second, it's just until 15th level.

This would go a long way to stopping the spam.
The amount of letters in a sentence has already been adjusted by zos in recent patch.

It needs to be much smaller just for the first 15 levels. What can you really not get across in 3 lines or less?
Easy way to stop goldsellers ....catch the players who buy from them.

Is that easy? I've never even heard of a player ever getting caught.

Please don't start down the road of limiting chat features to stop gold sellers, this only hurts legitimate players who want to use chat.
I can't stand playing an MMO when I can't write a URL to a helpful website or I can't chat for x minutes all because of gold sellers which are not being stopped from doing what they do at all.

Just implement a system for reporting them faster and after x number of reports that player receives a global mute. Abuse of this feature on innocent players results in warnings or bans.

    Hi everyone,

We just want to reiterate that we keep working hard on improving our system and tools so we can combat botters and gold sellers. For more detail please make sure to check this thread.

Ok I get the idea but you should think of the rest that something like that will effect, like having any kind of conversation with someone in the zone, trying to help someone. one minute may not be that long but in the right circumstance that's a ridiculously long time, especially in PVP.
Let us right click on the name and click goldseller. If that name hits 200, ban it instantly.
I get the intent with that too, but I also see people abusing that - how many guilds are there with over 200 members? What kind of power does that put behind the already power hungry players to be able to ban someone on a whim like that? "Oh *** that emperor is kicking our trash - everyone report him and get him banned"... at least for a few days when the investigation goes through but his reign will be over without being able to defend it. Not a good solution, while it could work - would create more work than it'd be worth implementing.
Let /ignore be limitless in number.
a little more reasonable given the circumstances but still not a good solution. With the ignore filter getting ever so bigger it will eventually start bogging down the system even more than it already has been, then there will be more angry people and a system slowing / stalling more than it already is.

I think the best solution would be to simply auto-remove banned accounts from everyone's ignore list. Then it would be quite a bit more apparent, just by the ignore list getting smaller, of ZOS's activity in getting rid of them.
Limit mailing to 0 unless they are on your friends list, for the first 15 levels.

I would definitely agree in limiting sending mail to only friends or guild mates, and that would completely remove the unwanted mail spam. Also no need for junk mail tab. I would not want mail from someone I don't know, even if they're giving me items or especially if they are trying to give me an extreme amount of gold... I don't know them, I don't want it - with all that's going around banning accounts that get tied to the gold seller. I don't know you, don't try sending anything to me.
