    You sure you're talking motifs (physical books that go in your inv) and not skill gain books(flashes a msg across your screen saying x skill has gone up)?

    Maybe a coincidence but every one I've ever gotten is from the trunks & dressers in the various royal palaces. Don't think I've ever found one not in a royal palace.

    Ok, when you read a motif book it does actually open and let you read a book. Interestingly I have read a couple of those same books from the shelves.
