BS "validation" process

They "validated" my card when they charged me - and received payment - for the Imperial Edition I ordered with it.

To do so again for my "free" month of playtime is egregious false advertising, deceptive marketing and *** poor customer service. While the charge may be a "validation" - that validation BLOCKS my use of MY money for the time it is on my account. The amount has no bearing on the argument. I don't care if it's 2 cents or 2 thousand dollars. They are not entitled to another cent of my money until May 4th - and yet here's my account sitting with a block on it.

They could easily have not required signing up for a subscription until the 30 days was up (as was indeed the case in the physical TOS agreement on April 4, but which was changed to the new model on April 7th) and not a single complaint would have been received. Now they have a mess on their hands (and the fan, the walls and the entire "room")

My nerd-rage is engaged.

    The devs would've bypassed all of this if you had written into support.

    But, with that in mind, try calling your bank to see if they can remove the auth charge. It's simple, really.

    You rather missed my point. They already knew my card was valid because I'd purchased the game with it. They also don't need to charge the entire amount to validate a card - nor did they need to do the validation process AT ALL until people had their 30 days. Also - for those who purchased a physical version of the game, the TOS stated they WOULD NOT be charged until their 20 days of free access was over. They then changed those terms on April 7th. Why? Why the authorization bs? There would have been ZERO complaints had they stuck to their initial TOS on that point.

    I don't need it explained to me, Teryn - I know perfectly well what authorization is and does as you would have gathered from my post. That's not my point.
